Sometimes it's just the music. Try it. Look away from the screen, close your eyes and just listen. And when you do, you know you're going to see something amazing every time you watch a video by Ric, a true storyteller in every sense of the word. In those intros of just a few minutes you hear sadness, you hear exhilaration, you hear the past and you hear the future. You hear Italy. Sometimes it's just the music.
My Dear dear Ken, thank you so much for your words; as always I am touched by what you write and by the appreciation for these videos.. Liebe Dagmar, immer gerne wieder! Splendid video. First of all I like the name of the town, Valentano. You filmed this town at a good time, a lot of people were outside. The panoramic point was very beautiful and then the exhibition in Piazza Cavour where there was some beautiful opera music. Thanks for your efforts.
I was quite convinced you would have enjoyed it dear Esther, knowing how you, yes, like the old towns, but at the same time you also enjoy to see people living in them too. This was a particular walk indeed; I was lucky to be in the celebrations during that day, and at the same time I wasn't too convinced to film as the weather was really quite bad, the sky almost invisible in a light cloud base and the sun shone not at its fullest through the clouds creating a kind of "grey and sand coloured" environment. But I tried and glad I did. Nice town indeed. Wish you a nice Sunday and as always see you soon at the next Friday

Thank you Angela, surely all passed but was away for a few days. Quite tired! Valentano was cute, but the weather... unfortunately not great. But glad I filmed. I hope you're also fine and wish you a happy Sunday
Great to see a walk that captures kids being kids after class, at the beginning. A very interesting town, that also showcases (in the opening drone shots) one thing that struck me when comparing Italy to North America : in North America, you have dense cities, then suburbs, then less dense semi-rural areas, then finally the countryside and the farms. In Italy, 5 minutes away from pretty much any super-dense town, you are in an agricultural setting. As small as the country is, you have farms everywhere, which probably explains why it is so self-sufficient in everything from vegetables and fruits to dairy products and meat. Gotta love, at 26:48, how Italians make use of every square inch of usable space. The lack of a Via Dante, di Risorgimento, Roma, XX Settembre or Vittorio Emmanuele II is puzzling. At least the San Pietrini is there in all its glory. And I have to say, I've rarely seen such a high ratio of Fiat Pandas per capita, in any town. WIN!
as always you made me chuckle dear Hugo) Aha, yeah the Pandas there were quite a lot but I didn't notice while filming to say the truth! Now that you wrote me.... I had to re watch it and gosh... yup. Indeed, the lack of Via Roma, XX Settembre, Vittorio Emanuele II and Dante, as well as Risorgimento (and should I say, also Vittorio Veneto perhaps) was quite discomforting actually)
Thank you very much my dear Sam - agreed, too bad about the weather whicih was so "strange" and grey and sand coloured :( But I am happy I filmed nonetheless. I can imagine with a clear sky it would have been even more beautiful. But surely a nice place. Wish you a nice Sunday dear Sam and see you soon
