@@AndogaSpock It is biochemical/inherited and runs in the family like I guess most chronic depression does. Some people need meds, some need therapy, some need management. I need good management of my life and a good routine and luckily was able to arrange my living so that I can live in the countryside and look out on beautiful mountains and forests, and take insanely beautiful walks with my dogs, which is great no matter if you are sad or happy. I am actually quite creative and productive during my depressive phases, and get a lot of writing done when I retreat into my inner self. Both my grandmothers struggled with depression, my mother did, and my sister does. I still do think this song is about the occult, mostly. If you want to know how depression feels for a guy (at least for me), there are some songs on the Nine Inch Nails album "Downward Spiral" that fit very well.

I only heard this song like yesterday. I was watching the show "The Titans", and I fell in love with the song. Maybe because I've been through so much in my life, and I feel I've been lost in darkness and trying to find the light like Conner in the show was trying to find his way out of the darkness into the light. We all have been through our darkness. Some more than others. We're all trying to go home. Some of us crawl home.

Maybe just by accident or maybe directly looking for the reguard, the treassures that can be found once you overcome the deep dark valey of the shadow of death. That is the heros journey, but tose about whom this song speaks, are the por souls who werent able to overcome that path of tryals, the colection of horrors within themselves and were wounded by that. Those who were defeated by the abyss, werent only uncapable of geting to that treassure, that self improvement, that geting reborned as someone beter and stronger, but became in fact, less that they once were, smaller and weaker, like a shadow of their formar self.
Personally, I think this song speaks about depression but it can apply to whatever situation you’re going through at the moment. In my case is depression and anxiety. It explains what I feel but also makes me feel relieved for some reason.

Personally, I think this song speaks about depression but it can apply to whatever situation you’re going through at the moment. In my case is depression and anxiety. It explains what I feel but also makes me feel relieved for some reason.
