THIS!! adds so much depth.
I can really imagine a bunch of kids running around singing this! The tune is so children's song-like, but the words just make it creepy. It's like ring around the rosie... It's great!!! XD

Totally what I felt
You know, I don't think there can be a better or more accurate realization of this song. It's supposed to be a children's song and this sounds just like that, but this sounds so eerie and mystical with a darkness to it that might not be so obvious to mere children. I have looked far and wide, and though there are a few of them who have tried to realize this song, none of them has done so as you have. You should consider [itching this to Lin-Manuel Miranda as he is developing the show and has openly said that realizing the songs is such a hard task and they have not cracked it yet. You should really try your best contacting Lin-Manuel. All the best and I hope this can make it into the show/movie, whenever that will be out :-P

I am finally coming around to read The Kingkiller Chronicles and I just reached the point where they sing a little bit of this song. I immediately had to think of your version of it and had to listen to it while reading, it is so beautiful yet uneasing, it fits perfectly!

The line "run outside, run and hide" and "stand alone, standing stone" always makes me think of a time in the distant past when a parent would be trying to impress these lessons on their children in preparation, because it was a matter of survival. The way that you enunciate those lines carries a lot of this emotional weight for me.
When I found your channel (thanks, Roomie), I immediately thought how awesome your style would be for the Kingkiller Chronicles. You can imagine my glee upon seeing this video! Love the song and it suits perfectly!

It's absolutely amazing! It cheerful enough to sound like a song that is sung by kids playing on the road, but has a slightly dark tone to it. Exactly how I would want it to be. But Merrigan , dear, you're singing the wrong kind of songs...
