how do you change decimal places on lines it shows 4 decimal places everythime i draw a line but i want only one number lets just say i m drawing a line 39.5 cm but its shows as 39.4928
Hello sir, all ur videos r very much useful to me, I had issue in dimensions, when I select two points to measure it ends up showing zero as the distance between the points but the actual distance is highter than zero. Pls explain us to get rid of this issue-thank u sir
Probably that is related with the precision you set up! For example if your dimension is 0.123; and you set the precision without decimals it displays zero. Go to dimension style manager -> primary units. Hope it helps
Do you have the dynamic input turned on? Go to the bottom/right corner of the status bar > click on 3 bar button > click on Dynamic Input > turn Dynamic input ON. Thanks for watching.
@@CADinblack yes, i do already turned it on. and it works perfectly while drawing lines. On the downside, I couldn't draw rectangles in exact length and width as this dynamic box didn't appear. Since i've been installing AutoCAD MEP 2020, I'm experiencing different interfaces.
Doing the dimensions and text in paper space saves the hassle of annotative scaling, and allows referening the file without having to freeze layers in the file that it is referenced in. annotative scaling never made sense; Paper space was created to do "paper work stuff" text, notes, dimensions etc. . Also in my drafting room, extension lines that far from the object I'd fire you on the spot, can lead to confusion in more complex objects, such as a piping layout, or a architectural floor plan.
Can’t you just change the “Offset from Origin” in the dim style so that it applies to all your dimensions in that style? I feel like that would be more efficient instead of having to type 500 all the time.
Hello Murahk. Good question. Offset from origin is a bit different. It's basically the spacing from your selected points to the baseline. With the way I showed on the video, the baseline lengths are all the same. Of course, there are several ways to make dimension lines in the project, you just need to find what you prefer. When I mean "professionally" I am referring to find your standard way and then apply it in your projects. In this video I basically shared some ideas to accomplish that, I didn't mean we should apply them all. For example, some drafters don't like to have baselines far from the walls, and in that case an "offset from origin" is more suitable. Hope it helps. Have a good day!
