Great show and great ending, but poor ronnie.
Yes, poor thieving, murdering lying, corrupt Ronnie.
Thisnameistaken11 he just covered up for the strike team. If anything, he was the lesser of all the evil that was the strike team, excluding Lem
Man I felt SO BAD for Ronnie. If anyone out of the strike team deserved to escape, it was him.
Being the least or second least evil out of a group of four exceptionally evil men hardly makes him a sympathetic character.
While Ronnie wasn't certainly innocent, I wouldn't put him in the same category as Vic or Shane.
An amazing show with the perfect ending, you loved and hated Mackey at the same time and Chiklis was great in the role, that fella can act.
One of the shows that is criminally overlooked. For whatever reason it does not get the credit it deserves . Talk to anyone that has watched it and they will testify to its greatness ! I can’t recommend it enough
Shane’s ending hit me, freaking heartbreaking
Me too man, I had a love hate relationship with the character and in the end it hurt to see how he went out
How? He betrayed his friend. How about Lem’s ending? Or did he deserve that more than Shane? Smh
I thought it was hilarious! LMAO! When he got the flowers and sleazed onto the clerk before he went and did the deed, gold!
@@goldenman8825 I feel bad for everyone (especially me) who kept watching after Shane killed Lem. All. Down. Hill.
The Shield toppled the Wire in my favorite TV shows of all time list.
My favourite shuffles from The Shield to The Wire to The Sopranos, all the time.
Drug Addicted Pornstar
The Shield had a better ending at least than The Wire
I'd say The Shield, Oz, The Sopranos then The Wire
The Shield and Justified are my two favorites
I respect your opinion but as good as the shield and breaking bad are....the wire and the sopranos are in another stratosphere
Just finished binge watching all 7 seasons. Amazing.
Michael and forest whitiker are world class actors they need to be a starring role together right now
It was a masterpiece ending!
Could've been better
@@Kickex how do you think it could’ve been better?
@@dante22723
Basically the same, just having vic breaking the deal by tipping off ronnie and get sent to jail.
@@Kickexno that would have ruined the entire ending. people thinking that Vic getting away or any of the people in the Strike Team getting away unscathed have completely misunderstood the entire point of the show.
Ironically it is stated by one of the characters in the show itself: "You can't protect the ones you love from the choices that you make."
I thought the end was perfect. For the exact reasons chiklis says. One of the best shows I've ever seen btw. Season 5 is masterful.
Forest Whitaker was great on the show
Shove This L Up Your Ass Stfu ya simple black/brown Nazi creep!!!!
@@MichaelSmith-rv8bs 🤔🤨😏
Top notch acting
He did play a role in the last episode of Sons of Anarchy. He was driving the Semi Truck that took out Jax in the end.
Excellent series. I especially admire Michael Chiklis’s amazing physical transformation to become Vic Mackey. The physical exercise, the discipline. He really paid the price. I also like The Commish. Bought and watch them. A great actor!
Mesmerising. Disturbing. What a series.
One of my favorite shows of all time!
It was the most perfect ending of a show I've ever seen!
The Shield had the best final season of any of the recent great television shows and the end result was perfect. Breaking Bad is giving them a run though. I think you can make a comparison of Mackey and Walt though. How they claim they did it all for their families in a megalomaniac way is one way. The dynamic between Vic and Shane, and Walt and Jesse is kind of similar too
Imagine a show created by the collab between Vince of Breaking Bad and Sean Ryan of The Shield. That would be a show for the ages...
Every single character on this show, fantastic 🏴
Just finished this a couple days ago, TOP 3 SHOW EVER!!!!!
I finally finished seven seasons in three weeks
Possibly the easiest of the top-tier non-sitcom shows to marathon. I remember how even after 7 seasons I was still so sad it was over for the first time
He's the best!
vic got the ending he deserved. he doesnt get to be happy after all the shit he pulled off. what he got was 100x worst than prison literally, and that's putting it lightly. he lost everything including his soul
***** Lol, dumbass
What I found curious about the ending was with the loss of all his friends, family, job, etc...I seem to get the most "loss" from him as he watched those two cop cars go flying by out the window. Almost like he was telling us that as much as he loved his family and friends, the street was truly where his heart was and that was what he would miss more than anything.
Would love to know what was going on in his head when he put the gun in in pants, put on the "Vic" face and walked out.
@@mrhoffame i think he went to follow the cops to the crime scene, take over and gradually gets his way back to fighting crime. You know that he can pull it off!
All-Time Favorite Shows:
#1 - The Wire
#2 - The Shield
#3 - Breaking Bad
#4 - Game of Thrones
#5 - Sopranos
Who's giving out money to say The Wire was a good show?
One of the best crime dramas ever.
The greatest ending in show history!
He actually did make his triumphant return on sons of anarchy. He finally put his gun down and now he just kills people with tractor-trailers
Vic is a great guy. Ppl like him in my family and I'm proud. Keep on hustling
What a phenomenal show...#3 on my all time list behind SOA and Breaking Bad
Jason X You think SOA is better? Shield never had a bad season
SOA is my favorite show ever
best show Ever because without it SOA and Breaking Bad don't Exist!!! as much as O'Z and The Sopranos and all HBO shows and Showtime Shows Changed TV....The Shield Change the Rules of the Game!!!
+sean cotter by changing the Rules of the Game i mean that this was Cable non subscription CHANNELS and was BETTER than anything that they produced!! The Shield changed the landscape of Cable non Subscription Television!!!
"better" is very subjective. In my opinion all three shows are wonderful
Fucking great show even i will love they keeping Glenn close more longer than one season
I’m glad he used the word « purgatory » because it’s the exact impression I got when I saw the ending, with this ICE office in which he had to work mandatorily for several years : white, cold, silent, no interactions especially with him, only repetitive paperwork, and all these rules even for changing the temperature… even for the viewers it looks weird, but for Vic, compared to his previous life, it’s clearly pure suffering, hearing police’s sirens outside as a reminder, only having some pictures of people who are now gone…
He broke ICE rules right away, packing a gun and walking out. His true demise is left to the viewers imagination, which is great.
@@Bootmahoy88actually he still has the right to have his gun in the office as long as it's locked in a safe (Olivia told him), he takes it out only when leaving. But indeed, we don't know what he's going to do that very night and it's up to interpretation (he could come back the next day to work but look for his family during the night, he could plunge back into crime, or he could try to run away like Ronnie wanted to do)
These days, I get nervous as a great show nears its end. So many fall off a cliff or bungle the finale. The Shield managed to deliver the perfect ending.
I just saw the ending and Im... Im lost, Im right there in purgatory with Macky. Somewhere in between hating it and loving it, but not being indifferent... its crazy.
You're in that place man. I think we all went there at first after seeing the end. Kurt Sutter has a habit of writing endings that don't quite set in until you've had time to think about it and watch the show again...you'll get there.
Omega Graves Shawn Ryan was the main guy for the shield Sutter just was one of the writers
I was hoping to hear about the Benoit ending of Shane's character
Sucks that Vic sold out Ronnie, tho
Ronnie was with him till the very end, even when Shane became a traitor :(
That Was Sad!
A cautionary tale about trusting "family" people. They'll sell you down the river if their real family is threatened
Vic selling out Ronnie was important. It drives the point that Vic is a snake only out for himself. If he got a deal for Ronnie, many fans would still cling to the idea that Vic is deep down a good cop/loyal friend/man of honor and absolve his behavior.
stone cold good dude
I always like to believe that vic went out, saw his family one last time then blew his brains out rather than be taken to prison
the Q&A was about the SERIES finale, not a season finale
Had a question, after vic's 3 year contract with the feds, does he lose his immunity by default? so gets charges slapped on him anyways?
Lokesh Thakur If he gets fired OR quits before his three year contract is up, then he gets prosecuted for everything he confessed to. If he completes his three years in hell, however, he's free to quit and move on. Granted, who else would hire him? In other words, make decent pay at a place no one likes you or make shitty pay at a place no one knows you.
This ending was beyond brilliant because it was about a group of friends that got torn apart by greed and their sins finally caught up with them. Shane's dead. Lem's dead. Ronnie's in jail. Vic has no one.
#freeronnie
Free Ronnie.
Poor Ronnie
I love the shield but my favourite actors are claudette wyms and vic Mackey
Those are the characters, fuckhead. The actors are CCH Pounder & Micheal Chiklis.
It was a great show! I'm still hoping for a return of the show! How about a new mayor of Farmington decides to bring Vic out of the office and run a new vice squad! Bring Ronnie back too.
I thought the ending was perfect and who better to be intertwined with Jax's death? They were both cut from the same cloth. But caused so much death and destruction for the people they loved and cared for. Jax decided to end the destruction while Vic was left to live with what he caused. Which would be worse than death.
lol he is so nice in real life, so different from Vic.
Yeah but remember Vic was given amnesty for all the dirt he did when he confessed to that lady cop on tape. Plus he did always get the bad guy, somehow. I'm still just hoping! lol!
Have DVD set, saw front+back. Think was after S3/4 when ran out of steam. So WHY did he implicate Ronnie..
From the futur, he did played in sons of anarchy but not in vic Mackey
Can we please continue the season I think the next season she start off with Vic saving Ronnie from prison via solving a big drug casefor the FEDS. By doing this Vic not only gets Ronnie out of prison but he also gets himself out of the office duty detail. And this allows the seasons to continue
Yes plz 😭 I want Ronnie out he didn't deserve it :(
james that was the ending
I read in some comment section a good idea for a sequel series. Ronnie gets out of prison in 12-15 years after cutting some sorta deal and comes after Vic for revenge.
Agree with the similarities, but I have a lot more empathy for Vic than Walter.
Amazon prime don't have the final episode.
This guy was on Seinfeld
Larry King was never on Seinfeld
Problem with Vic is he just never knew when to stop. Just kept getting himself into deeper and deeper shit and all the time I was just screaming at my screen STOP STOP STOP. It made me nauseous just seeing him get himself into deeper shit when he could have just gotten out of the mess AGES ago. There is a way out take that way out now and STOP but he would not and at the end of it all he ended up in a situation 1 million times worse. By the 7th season i'd lost all sympathy for him and in the end he kinda got what he deserved.
The way the show did ronnie though was so dirty. They could have at least gotten the feds to cut a deal for Ronnie too. By far the most likable of the strike team bunch.
l agree totally. But who can blame Vic for turning his back on Ronnie ? He was squezed into turning his one last friend.
Drug Addicted Pornstar Vic betrayed Ronnie, but Ronnie has his hands dirty as well. What do you expect from corrupt people? It still was surprising through. The Strike Team always had each other's backs.
R. Jack l think the series had its logical and realistic conclusion.
But if he stopped, there was no series left...
I felt bad for Ronnie. I wished at the end, Vic came to his senses and give up his immunity in exchange for his freedom. Ronnie, like Lem, were the sacrificial lambs to Vic and Shane's greed.
I see a Vick mackey
What about the fact the Vic Mackey's truck killed Jax?
He wasn't Vic Mackey on that show
Now he's look like Newman from Seinfeld.
Vic was the cop we deserved!
Toot toot, Putty, Put.
vic mac key
You know, I always said "He needs to end up either dead or in jail" and I say the same thing about Breaking Bad's Walter White (I see MANY similarities between these shows, even if others do not) but I really liked what Michael Chiklis said about those being the two expected outcomes. So in that regard, they were original. But sometimes, cliche's exist for a reason, because they work. I still believe he should have ended up in REAL jail, life sentence. I hope Breaking Bad does their ending right
Except Walt had to come back because his wife and son where being investigated and he had to tie all loose ends.
I loved Vic, I was scared he would kill himself or go to prison. Didn't really like the ending nor got it clearly :(
really? I thought it was fantastic. I loved how he grabbed his civillian gun and hit the streets. I could see him years later being a PI in a different town, quitting as soon as he could after his deal was done. Or showing him blackmail people in the justice dept or INS, dealing with his addiction to trying to be on the streets.
Maybe it could deal with Ronnie's surviving in prison and his intentions once he gets out.
I think the shield ended really well and I think it's great that we as fans can imagine where he might be nearly 10 years later.
Larry didn't even watched The Shield
FREE RONNIE!!!
great show , bad ending .
Amazing cop show, the end not so much
Gray area? There was nothing gray about this series' characters - these guys were jet black, there was virtually no one to root for or sympathize with. Pretty sure Wyms was the only truly decent person in the whole show.
you are a black person richtig :D
You're just going to pretend Curtis Lemansky didn't exist?
K.
Curtis was Kool !
Unpopular opinion I guess, but what a horrible ending.
The finale was trash. They should have focused more on Gardocki going to jail, especially since he was the only member who was being held accountable for what the team had done.
Seeing Gardocki in jail would have been both exciting and tragic.
Last season was garbage forrest w. Character was dreadful show went down after Glenn close left, mackey wouldnt last 5 mins in Dublin ☺ its entertaining nonsense ✌️ 🎥 ☺ 🇮🇪 a 2020
