"effortless" is so accurate. You really seem to "get" what Angelina is doing. She is not going to give you all the obvious belting notes, or the cliche arrangements of songs. She doesn't so much do "covers" as she does "interpretations". You have many, many more Angelina performances to hear. Something I didn't leave on the last video that you may find useful is my chronological playlist. It's some of my favorites arranged in order from Age 7 to current. It will help give you an idea of where you are in her progression. Adam, I don't usually suggest and artists, groups, or songs to reactors, as it is always good to be taking that particular journey with them. Having said that, I suppose all norms are eventually overshadowed.
Noticing your liking of the a capella genre, I was wondering if you have heard of the a capella group called 'Home Free.' They are a country-ish group of very talented singers which can cover just about any genre. If you have a specific reason for choosing not reacting to them, I will understand fully. If, on the other hand, you could indulge this old donkey, please do give them a listen. They have a vast number of UA-cam videos, as they have been producing their own music and many covers over 20+ years. They make music fun and isn't that one of the major goals of music?
I am probably a very lonely voice in the void, but hey, one has to at least ask....

It never gets old, I feel the same as the first time I felt after listening to this performance. In awe and speechless . Ever since I've discovered Angelina back in January, I've been listening 3 - 4 hours a day. Like stress releasing after a day of hard work. I think I've missed may be once or twice not more than two days when I was painting my sister's house. I thank God every time I'm listerning to Angelina Jordan for putting her on this earth.

Her Grandmother is a prodigy...and her grandmother's influence on this prodigy...has been incredible...Angelina has absorbed all the influences from the past...an era of seminal music.......that her grandmother obviously loved....and exposed Angelina. to..in her really formative years. The result: is a wonderful rebirthing of all these great songs to an audience that now covers the whole age spectrum. With this sort of background Angelina has a musical grounding that many of her age would not have....the result speaks for itself......

Every time I hear Angelina sing, I picture her stepping out of an old black & white movie, to transport us back in time, so we can fall in love with these genuine masterpieces again ❤️ 💚 💙 💜 Great reaction!!! A little backstory, for some of your subscribers who may not know......Angelina's Grandmother loved Blues & Jazz music, & they used to listen to it all the time, & Angelina was hooked, so her younger style tipped the scale closer to Jazz, and as she ages, she has developed many other styles of music, including her own, & now can sing almost anything!!! She also sews most of her outfits, does all her own musical arrangements, & goes barefoot, because she met a young girl when performing one day, who had no shoes & could not afford to buy any, so Angelina gave her the shoes she had on, & in memory of the girl, & poverty, she continues to goes barefoot! What can I say, except this young girl, is an inspiration, an amazing talent, has a huge compassionate heart, & the world is a much nicer place to be, with her in it !!!

I doubt I’m the first to notice this, but I love how she pushes her hair out of the way at 4:00 : “outta my way, hair, I’m about to test the structural integrity of this venue...”.
I agree with your take. Her brilliance comes through understatement. She's not trying to gin up emotion; she's letting the quality and integrity of her interpretation touch the listener. My favorite part of this performance is how she follows the camera as it pans around her in close-up, confidently giving us eye contact all the way through. Her humble confidence is as inspiring as her talent.

Adam, I have been enthralled by Angelina now for about six months. I have listened to most all things concerning her on UA-cam. This is the song that I decided was when, in my eyes, she became the greatest female singer to ever live. At 10 no less. Everything after this is just proof. She has had plenty of life experiences since that influence her ability to transmit the true feeling of the music to us. She is a gift to us when we badly need something good and it is her! Enjoy learning and feeling more from her, and remember there are many of us that do believe she is the best ever.

I understood your comments on your first reaction to I Put a Spell on You. You hadn’t see Angelina before, and you wandered into an intentionally stylized performance. You wanted to hear her sing, and today’s video was a good example. Above all, Angelina is a singer who is gifted with an exceptional natural voice, but she has worked hard to master the art of singing. You’ll see that as you move through the very diverse selection of songs ahead of you. I envy that you’re just starting out.
I am very impressed at how well you understood Angelina after this song. Yes, she’s completely calm during her performances. She is confident in her abilities, but visibly humble on stage. Her style is never to wow you with vocal fireworks. Instead, she draws you in with her novel arrangements, her timing, and the beauty of her voice. You don’t even want to applaud because you’ll miss something. You’ll see that she has the audience in the palm of her hand right from the start (cue Bohemian Rhapsody right here).
It’s so hard to suggest your next review because there are twenty songs that are easily in contention. But to see a side of Angelina you’ve not experienced yet, I’ll suggest “A Million Years Ago”, the Adele cover. You’ll see stripped down, acoustic Angelina with just a beautiful guitar backing her. And you’ll hear what many of us love most. That would be Angelina’s rich, resonant low register, her stunning voice “unplugged”, and her ability to interpret and deliver lyrics better than anyone I’ve ever heard.

Angelina Jordan is a music prodigy she started singing at age of 1.5 years and more than that she started with Billy Holiday Jazz. Angelina speaks 3 languages, designs her own clothes and runs an art studio, and has written a best-selling book and like her name she truly is an angel with a heart of gold. Angelina won Norway's got talent when she was 7 years old Her younger years before age 13 she was watched over by her mother and her Uncle who just wanted her to grow up normal. Her mother and uncle Turned down almost 90% of all requests for her to perform but even so from age 7years to 12 years old or so, she has been all over the world (Mother never more than a breath away) Angelina has produced over 130 covers, and she makes all of them her own, all of which will astound you. New people to Angelina get sucked down this road of experience not believing what they're hearing her excellent vocals and unique way of singing, Angelina is a master at music structure her ability to show absolute recognition to a cover while she makes it her own. Angelina writes her own music and produces it. Angelina's mother is Norwegian, her father is from Sweeden The grandmother on her mother's side is from Iran and her grandfather (recently deceased) from Japan both grandparents are very involved with Angelina growing up, Angelina's song a million miles is about losing her grandfather.

By this stage, at 10, Angelina's "child" singer days were over. She was fully professional with 100% adult voice. At 12 she got a great mic for her birthday, moved to LA with her "Shield" (Mom, Sister, Grandma & Uncle), met new people in the music industry & ran off a number of vocal masterpieces, many with acoustic guitarist Ivan Mendez. You should use Rusty's list of "Live Through the Years" playlist. Pick & choose songs you love or you can follow her development as the playlist is chronological. This may sound silly but she is "once-in-a-lifetime" & I'm just so glad I get to see the start of it.

This was an amazing performance. She has another live performance of this at an outdoor festival which is great but I like this one. She is like a chameleon..her voice can change effortlessly to fit the song. She has several covers of adele which are amazing. Yes, she does put her own interpretation on her covers, always and she always honors the originals. Her growth is as phenomenol as the difference in the way her voice may sound with the song that she sings. Her technical ability is so unbelievable that she sounds completely different in some songs. Her ballads are so emotional, rich and warm.....smooth as silk, whereas some of her “Amy Winehouse” covers have a vocal fry techniques and different tone ......that really suit the songs. Then you get “A Song For A” which sounds like a theme from movie ...from the 30’s, 40’s... Her Jazz from the live version at a festival of “It’s a Man’s World” is similar to “I’m feeling Good” but moreso and then everything in between.
Everything that you said was spot on and I assure you that this reaction will be one of countless reactions that will not only amaze you but will totally surprise you. I really love that you said that Angelina’s performance, while it had not fancy flashing lights...elaborate anything on stage presentation...just Angelina and her talent and that was all that was needed to captivate you. Like I say, Angelina only needs her voice and a camera with a microphone and music to entertain and hypnotise you. I think we agree with each other. That is the sign of a true artist.

This is definitely one of my favorite performances. As you pointed out. She is 10 here. I’m just so taken with her stage presence. The girl is in front of a live audience. She has a very excellent band with her. And she just commands the stage like you said. As a 40 year old veteran does.

The amazing rapid development can actually be seen on her four performances on Norway’s Got Talent. Even if you don’t react to them you should watch the progression from “Gloomy”Sunday to “Summertime” she went from great to extraordinary within two months. Her progression from seven to thirteen can not be comprehended. The ornaments she uses within her song choices are mind bending Her writing ability will soon become apparent when you get to her originals. I am so glad you have chosen to take this journey.
Bill Weekley. I also noticesd the progression from”Gloomy Sunday” to “Summertime”. It confused my brain because I knew that it was a short time period yet her voice seemed different. There was no real answer so I just went on and put it aside. Of course, we know Angelina, “The Girl with 1000 Voices” and that helped put my question to rest..kind of..... Now hearing you say, that there WAS IN FACT, an actual “progression” gives me the solution to the question that I had about NGT.
Actually her progression in general is phenomenol. Sometimes I listen to her at 10 and she sounds so much older than those years..same thing when she was 8 at times. Then you hear her sing “I put a Spell on You” and there still is a childish sound to her voice in different places. At about the same age she will deliver songs that you would guess a person that is at least in their 20’s or more is singing. Maybe it is Angelina just doing a lot of experimenting.... she is a wonder. I would just love to be in her head for a few days, it must be a magical place.

Thanks for doing this reaction to "Feeling Good". This is one of my favorites because she is just so relaxed and effortless in her delivery. To expand on some of your comments about her being artistic in the choices she makes with her performances: the thing about her that I respect the most is that she pays tribute and respect to every song she sings by giving great deference to the song itself and simply interpreting the intent and story of the piece. She uses her vocalization, tone, and technique, to enhance the meaning of the song instead of just showing off her skills. If the song needs a belted note or a sick run, she will use them. If it needs quiet, soulful tones, she uses them. Her focus is always on expressing the music, not herself. There are songs that I have listened to all my life and I couldn't recite the lyrics to. But then I hear Angelina perform the song and all of a sudden, I am hearing and appreciating the lyrics for the first time. It is really a mind blowing experience. You said you wanted to explore more of her different types of music, so I've included some widely varying selections below, including some of her originals.

Fantastic reaction to a stunning performance. She is incredible and I particularly liked the end when she goes up higher, gives a little of her inner Janis Joplin, finishes up calmly and gives us that angelic smile. She knew she had the audience in her hands from the first note they heard her sing. Can’t wait for more reactions, keep them coming.
I think the most amazing thing about her talent and musicality, is her restraint, her performances are so nuanced. She is obviously able to do all the runs and big notes but doesn't need to all the time. As impressive as the stair stepped high note was I was I loved the growl out of it with the little run down that just added the soul to it.
Her backup is killing it.....she makes them sound good....and they make her sound good.

Es mag nur Unsere Ansicht, Unsere Meinung sein, doch am besten gefallen Uns Ihre Lieder, die -wie bei Born to Die, All of me, alle Adele Cover´s, Faded, Young and Beautyful- eher langsamer sind und Ihre Stimmbandbreite betonen! Wir denken, in solchen Liedern kann Sie Ihr Talent am besten zur Geltung bringen!

Well, I think we can let you into the club of those who are addicted to Angelina Jordan! This young woman has legions of fans around the world, and all it takes is one or two songs for anyone to get completely hooked. You've got some really fantastic surprises in store for you. Like Rusty said, she doesn't just sing songs. She interprets every song she sings in her own completely unique fashion, and she has an amazing ability to convey the emotions of a song like no other artist. She has reduced most of us to tears more times than we can count. Not only does she do classic jazz standards, she covers more pop artists (she does Adele better than Adele!), and she's written several original pieces. Most of her videos are live recordings - one take, no edits, just perfect. My personal recommendation for your next Angelina video is her tribute to her friend Avicci, "Wake Me Up".
I totally agree & she transformed Avicii's hit pop song, with 2 billion views, into a mournful beautiful tribute to him shortly after he committed suicide at 28. I’m also a big fan of her performance in Sweden at the Swedish heroes gala. She was not feeling well having performed recently for the Nobel peace concert out in the cold weather. But she puts on an emotional performance of I’ll be There (Jackson 5 cover) that never fails to bring me to tears. It is slower and more somber than the original and in a minor key a half step down to achieve that effect

Live audience of important VIPs and honorees including the PM of Sweden and wife. And she goes on stage with a bad cold and still commands the room. I cannot wrap my head around this little angel
