    Simple way ro kill file sizes: just render a deep alpha (simply setting the color type to float in arnold for example).
    You end up with normal file size and you still can use the deep data for dof and roto. + Everythings runs smoother again.

    hey guys thanks for the vid, but is there any mid level solution from this (regular beauty/depth pass to deep renders)? maybe i could get around this (mid level styled solution) using cryptomatte? any tutorial or mid level solution from foundry/nuke community? thanks and more power!

      Currently Blender Cycles doesn't support deep passes.
