On a whim, I thought of whether Dahlia had a dialogue with Maya before she attacked her at the gate of the Hazakura Temple. And this is how I imagined the dialogue would go.

Thanks! Tbh I cover scenarios that either happened off screen, or could have happened but didn't. Edgeworth could have certainly become a defense attorney if Gregory didn't die. But I don't know how Phoenix could ever end up as a prosecutor 😅
@@debastiansebeste Well, he said that he would become a prosecutor to accuse Larry, after discovering the real culprit for stealing the lunch money (even if it was just a momentary thing).
I didn't played AA 4 yet, but the Hobo Phoenix could be a prosecutor.

@@debastiansebeste hmm... Gregory Edgeworth does die, but von Karma is caught straight away by another skilled prosecutor. Miles therefore isn't manipulated into becoming a prosecutor by him and follows in his father's footsteps just as he originally planned. Phoenix however sees that his best friend was saved by this hypothetical prosecutor (Miles was probably one of the other suspects... come to think of it this might be an au where Gant doesn't fuck with Gregory's testimony if we go by your take on Gregory's channeling) and is inspired to become a prosecutor as a result
just a quick thought experiment and honestly kind of a stretch but it's fun to think about
@@debastiansebesteprosecutor phoenix wright could work if larry butz had stolen phoenix wright's money instead of edgeworth, i have a hc that phoenix wright used to want to be a prosecutor when he was a child, paralleling how edgeworth wanted to be a defense attorney back when he was a child too. Of course, after the school trial thing, phoenix wright was discouraged from the idea of being a prosecutor, and instead decided that protecting the innocent would be a far better idea (also him wanting to find edgeworth does have to do with him being a defense attorney too iirc, so yknow). So, the main idea is to twist the story a bit so that phoenix wright decides to become a prosecutor.

Me neither. I accidentally discovered that the custom Iris I got from Discord had one. I imagine it's a custom objection
I also like to think that Dahlia wanted to kill Maya (aside revenge on Mia) was also she could get apreciation from her mother. Something like "See mom, I wasn't useless like you told me to! You were wrong for abandoning us!"

Yeah. Maya definitely knew something beforehand. I mean, I couldn't imagine Dahlia trying to kill Maya without saying a single word to her first

@@debastiansebeste I upvoted and had great fun, but I strongly disagree. After being abandoned as a child, roaming the world, killing left and right and taking 100-meter dives into freezing, currenty rivers, Dahlia is hardened and would never have any of this "do this you worthless child" stuff from a woman she hated so much. Also, her desire for revenge is something she can control or, at least, bluff - whereas Morgan's plan is something that is evidently important to herself, so Dahlia has the upper hand in the negotiation. I'd expect something along "if you want me to help in your plan, talk with respect, pathetic bitch". Morgan would *have* to agree and Dahlia would have gained another ego prize.
Honestly Morgan may have not had the biggest impact as a villain, but seeing the interaction between her and Dahlia really shows that she is far more evil than the games show.
@@Veriox22 Damn right. Not only did she kick 2 of her children out for not filling her quota, she had the audacity to ask her *older daughter* to die and use her *younger daughter* as a vessel to murder her *niece* .
Seriously, it's not hard to see how Dahlia ended up so messed up. Not many Ace Attorney villains I've seen were as evil as Morgan Fey
@@debastiansebeste Dahlia has the most tragic backstory, as not only her mother was disgusting, but her dad was also terrible. He divorced Morgan because he was disappointed she didnt become Master and so he didn't get special privileges. He didn't hesitate to give Iris away like she wasn't his daughter either. With parents like these, it's no wonder why Dahlia ended up like that.

It's eerily scary who their conflict reflects my maternal family's conflict. Her family is a political empire somewhere in a small place, and I have heard a few incidents of infighting between them....even murder once. Glad I never got involved but killing for power. It's quite common

Expertly done. I love how you show how much of a monster Morgan truly was, since Dahlia does mention ingame that Morgan wanted to kill her in prison. Only one thing keeping this from absolute perfection: Maya did say she screamed "Help me!" when she spotted Godot, right before he stabbed Dahlia.
But that's a small detail, Otherwise this was excellent! Great job. :D

That's really good, but I think that you use... not so fitting music, you know
Telling the truth 2001 is really good, but it's song of revealing truth of Mia, Hammer, Hammond, Goodman and Marshall death, so I think, maybe 2004 version is more fitting.
Also, we really don't know, how many Maya learn from Dahlia in canon... But I think that when she realised situation, she should better run away and cry as loud as possible))))
P.S. Are you draw mouth animations for this sprites or it was in original?
Well, according to canon, Dahlia and Maya didn't speak at all (I think). Dahlia simply attacked Maya and Godot stopped her. So none of what is shown here reflects canon, I just wanted to see how a dialogue between Maya and Dahlia would go (so I couldn't let Maya run away either :p I saw as if she was that cornered that she couldn't run away or something)
As for the music, honestly I always go by instinct. I carefully listened to all the truth OSTs, and this one made a click to me better than the others. I didn't stop to consider what situations it's been used in before, I just thought "yes, that's the one I want for this scene"
Also thanks for showing me how to upscale in Waifu2x, I found what I was doing wrong and upscaled all Maya's PXZ sprites from scratch as you can see 😁

Well, I just think that PXZ sprites actually didn't have any animations, that's why I think: «Oh, he actually draw mouths for it»
@@Mad_Man_With_A_Box yeah I totally drew mouths and blinking eyes. I also made her cry sprite from scratch because it didn't exist (had to draw the mouth and the tears on my own xD)
But still that wouldn't be possible without upscaling the sprites first 😁

I feel like this would've been more accurate if it was with Misty Fey rather than Iris.
Uh, but that's a misconception. The spirit medium always takes the form of the spirit she channels. Just like how Maya and Pearl always look like Mia when they channel her.
When Misty Fey channeled Dahlia, she changed and looked like Dahlia. Which is why Dahlia pretended to be Iris at first.
@@debastiansebeste And because the two are twins, it would be easier to display Dahlia as Iris since she would have black hair instead of her red hair, due to Misty channeling her. Makes sense.
@@wingadept8793 yep. The Dahlia you see in my thumbnail is from the game itself, from the cutscene where she is shown attacking Maya. So she pretty much intentionally dressed up and even did her hair to look like Iris. After all, it was Morgan's plan that Dahlia pinned everything on her sister

Not to mention, Misty Fey would be unfittingly smiling all the time despite her niece's death, because her sprites only have "Smile" and "Smile more" poses 😂

this hurts to imagine, ouch :(( Misty dying was tragic enough, but with her disappearance after DL-6 she was pretty much already "dead" to her family so it didn't hurt as much. Pearls... i don't even want to think about it, sadly i don't think even knowing it's an innocent 8 year old would've stopped Godot

Jokes aside, she probably got it as she was at the same prison as Dahlia at the time, and managed to get the guards to arrange her a meeting with Dahlia through her connections
I'm honestly so glad the writers eventually stopped with the constant death sentence trope. Sentencing every convict to death sounded way too lazy to me lol
