From Google AI..... Here are some steps for adjusting a Lectron metering rod:
1. Determine direction
Decide which way you want to turn the rod. Turning it clockwise (right) will make the mixture richer, while turning it counterclockwise (left) will make it leaner.
2. Turn the rod
Without pushing the rod in, turn it the desired amount. You should feel some resistance as the rod screws in or out. Each quarter turn shortens the rod by 0.006 in, while each turn lengthens it.
3. Reorient the flat side
Gently push up on the slide and rotate the rod so that the flat side faces the engine. You should feel little to no resistance when turning the rod in this position.
4. Center the rod
Make any final adjustments to center the rod and ensure it's facing backwards.

Sounds like you can adjust the metering rod height as a regular screw but pushing up on it disengages the threads so you can put the flat in the correct orientation.
