Love when a metal band has bass being such an important part of the sound. You rock dude.
Yes bass is so underused in metal. Many bands volume down the bass to where you almost cant hear it and the bass just plays the guitar parts. But Jinjer shows how amazing of an instrument bass can be in metal, makes it so much heavier and groovier. I played guitar for years and now i found my new love, the bass. Playing a cool bassline who fits the riff is so satisfying to me. And i really suck at playing bass/guitar, i‘m not even 5% at the level of this guy, but i try my best
Watching this, there's no mystery as to how Jinjer has such a full guitar sound despite only one guitarist.
Eugene's such a badass.
i was thinking the exact same. i got into the band when they had two guitarists and i was worried they'd lose a little something when one left. My fears were unfounded.

I've never seen a bassist switch from finger pluck, strum, slap, and to slides quite as seamlessly as Eugene! Beautiful stuff!
This is the best way of doing a playthrough. No camera moving or anything else, focus on playing. I've already watched this video about 50 times and will continue to do so. Thanks a lot Eugene. This is inspiring.
I cannot overstate how much I appreciate his style. The timing, the choice of high notes vs low notes, attack. It's perfect to my ears

Every time I hear a kick ass bass player like Eugene I always think of Ryan & LD 50. It left such a mark for bass players in metal.

Several aspects are homages to Ryan. And, Ryan's one of my all-time favorites.

For me Eugene is up there with my all time favorite bass guitarists: Chris Glen, Steve Harris, Geddy Lee, Flea, Jaco and Jason Newsted.
The way the bass lines work with the rest of the band are obviously a huge reason but when played on there own it's something else - I could listen to the bass line all day and not be bored. To have both at the same time is excellent composition and something I love about Eugene's bass lines.
I've played guitar for 35 years and he's the first guy that's made me think about buying a bass - and that's after really admiring the work of Geddy, Flea, Jaco and Jason. The only thing that's stopping me is Roman's guitar parts are equally as gorgeous and that's why I love this band - everyone is so good. I could geek out about the drums and vocals just as much. The songs sound so good. When listened too as a whole they sound simple and complete but when you listen to them in detail you can pick apart all the details and uncover a masterpiece. Every song is like an awesome Christmas present. The initial excitement is huge but even with constant listening the excitement continues.
