The audience also plays a factor. Gundam is and always has been a military show. Development of technology, warring factions, and how one faction always wants to develop better mobile suits (mechs) than the other. Hence, often time, the fun of the Gunpla (Gundam Plastic Model Kits) is how we build them up, the same way a manufacturer would.
Gundam is one of my favorite anime series and transformers is one of my favorite series sooo this is quite a video
I can tell you have a thing for big robots
@@5spec hmm I wonder why
I do too
I’m a nerd for it too lol!,

Gundam is real robot that involves politics, love triangles, interpersonal relationships, not knowing pilots and hating them in battle then unknowingly mingling with them. Og transformers barely had a cohesive plot with a fanbase that loves gatekeeping other transformers franchise. I love them both and i have a massive collection of both gunpla and transformers
siege zeon!!
I like them both. I know a lot more about the Transformer mythology than Gundam. I started buying Gundam kits because I've always liked model kits and cool robots, but I'm basically a newb at the mythology. I feel like i spend mpre time building a particular kit than i do transforming a tf...so in a way the Gundam play value is higher...
I agree
being fan of both franchise is pain, especially at my place a deluxe transformers cost double the price of a hg gundam
You lived in Asia?
@@alfianfahmi5430 ya
The real factor on whether you'll choose one over the other when it comes to Gundam and Transformers figures is where you lived. If you lived in Europe, US, or any Western countries, chance is you're better off collecting Transformers. Meanwhile if you lived in Asia, Gunplas are quite more affordable. Geography really affected the shipping price and could easily turn something that should've cost $7 to $16 🗿
that's why cheapoff transformers figures a re a life saver
Gundam is very easily accessible in the US actually. There's plenty of hobby shops that carry them and big name shops like Hobby Lobby and Target carry them as well. You can walk into any toy aisle and get transformers much easier, but Gundam is still pretty accessible here.
@@sanictheedgehog The thing is, unless they already have some sort of attachment to Gundam, people in the West would more likely buy Transformers figures.
One thing I love about Gundam is that Bandai keeps re-printing old model kits. If you like the look of a kit from a decade or more ago, you can just set up a notification on your hobby shop's web page and sooner or later it'll be in stock again. With Transformers, once a toy's had its initial run it's just gone, and the only way you'll be able to get it is to track down a second-hand copy.
As much as Gundam figures, Model kits and such look badass. I find myself more attached to the fun aesthetic of Robots that can change their physical form to whatever they see fit or whatever given reason
Just wait until you discover the zeta and double zeta gundams
@@opulan I know those thanks to my brother.
for me, get the kick of badass from third party figures, because those usually get some really cool looks, poseablity and more paint job than some retail. At the cost of being stupids expensive. Iron Factory is an example of this.
Tho since I also like legos, gunpla has its own charm.
@@JJTheDev Honestly, fair
Should've talked about Entry Grades, dude. They're the low-bar entry for Gundam builders/collectors that are as impressive as High Grades, which are bigger than Core Class figures (they're in kinda the same price range in Asia).
I actually ordered the McDonald's Gundam Entry Grade kit and plan to review it.
@@MechaZeeReviews Where's the review, bruh??? 🤨🤨🤨
Surprised that you hadn't separated the front skirt on the Strike Freedom...that's pretty much something most builders do on every model kit
I have been a transformers fan for basically my entire life so as a franchise transformers is easily my favorite. But I've recently tried some gundam model kits and i find them to be really fun to build and I do enjoy their slicker designs more then a lot of my transformers figures so currently I've been enjoying collecting gundam more.
Since we are talking about new figures of each franchise why not compare the Upcoming SS ROTB OPTIMUS AND THE HG GUNDAM AERIAL REBUILD VER
As much as I like transformers, Gunpla has always appeal more to me. Building a robot is more fun honestly. And with Gunpla you can fix the joints easily enough compared to transformers at times. I would be lying if I say that Gunpla don't have their own issues (stability out of box, stickers and some being PBandai).
What I will say is this, robots are cool regardless of what franchise
Jobbythehong forgot Gundam existed.
Gundam figures, as in figures, are normally geared towards well off collectors in japan (for ver anime, robot spirits, metal robot, metal build etc). The more recent line of "Universe" figures is more intended for the retail box store sort of appeal, more affordable but less accessories (but made up for with size).
The models kits are more affordable and usually end up having better accessories, details and even articulation than normal gundam figures except of course for high end stuff. Just don't expect to be able to rough house them.
Also shame about that Unicorn, you got a bad QC one with what looks like sun damage. Most of the Universe figures are actually pretty good for their price, though ultimately an HG is still la better deal. And I would argue a better bang for buck than a transformer :P I still love transformers though and im not nearly as hard on the new ones as other people are.
In my country, strangely normal gundam figures (not limited or collector editions) are way cheaper than normal transformers figures (mainline movie and studio series).
They're both great franchises but unfortunately Transformers are more affordable for me. But I do love both immensely.
Oh boy, there’s about to be a war in the comments. As for me, a lifelong fan of transformers, and a huge Gundam fan of 6 years, I’d say neither is better than the other and both have their place.
TF figures (strictly speaking from a mainline point of view) are mostly made for general audiences. They’re meant to be mass produced in an assembled manner and designed with play in mind. They’re much more solid and playable thanks to the glue, pins, and screws used throughout which also help facilitate complex transformations.
Gundam figures on the other hand (strictly speaking from a model kit point of view) are designed to be built and displayed. The fact that they’re snap fit model kits built by the user makes them relatively fragile compared to pre assembled figures like TF. But they tend to have better articulation and much more detail compared to TF, especially at higher grades like MG, RG and PG. They’re also easy to customize and make your own. Transforming Gundam Kits do exist, but they tend to be more delicate compared to their non-transforming counterparts since they lack the pins, screws, and glue that help keep transformers figures together, but they make up for that with their insane engineering tricks and making no compromises.
I’ve got a sizeable collection of both and I love them all.
Transformers and Gundam deserve a crossover!!
YOUR HEAD!
Still waiting for tf to be featured in SRW
When it comes to model kits you also have to take into account customization esspecially within the same line. It’s easy to swap limbs and weapons even without going into paint or modification. I’m building one right now where instead of a kibble jet cockpit I’m cutting that peice up to combine with the main bodys arm as a big armed super mode.
Kitbashing is one of the main selling points in Gunpla.
@@alfianfahmi5430they also have another line, known as 30 Minute Missions.
Those are kitbash heaven.
May i interest you in the MG Zeta Gundam Ver. Ka?

Transformers
TRANSFORMERS MORE THEN MEETS THE EYE
I love both but G Gundam is indeed the best anime to ever exist with Transformers Armada in second place.
The fact that I saw the thumbnail change
I've been into gunpla for years and as i kid a loved transformers, in particular beast wars. Recently i shifted to transformers due to lack of time for building and i love them
0:33 why was that so smooth?
i just want to say.....the value is better with gundam model kits ONLY if you make a good purchase, because there are kits that arent great....but the new model kits from the new series are amaaazing
It would be cool to see you reviewing more Gundam stuff 🤔 but review everything equally
I like both, but Gundam has taken over for me instead of transformers. I was a big bionicle kid growing up and this feels like a natural evolution for me. I find the builds very satisfying. I still pay attention to the new releases for TF, but everything I want from TF I can get from gundams that I really enjoy building.
Where can you find Gundam figures that don’t need to be put together? Basically any Gundam figures that can transform without being gunpla figures.
I want to panel line the details on the Optimus prime toy so much.
First mechazee reviews
I was just thinking the same of my 2 favorite toylines today. But in my case, I collect gundam model kits, therefore, Tfs and Gundams win in their own category in my world.
1:03 where can I find this figure?
When he review the char zaku the could have more articulation but because he turned the arm it just have a 90 degrees
oh no this comments section is about to be hell
Bandai HG kits have advanced a lot since that strike freedom model kit, things like the skirt armor are always cut in half by most builders to allow it to move independently from the other side,
we should compare the TWFM line to the newest releases, and also compare the price, with the aerial being only 1300 yen or $9
In the US it seems that everything related to shipping is expensive according to most collectors, but here in Mexico is cheaper to buy things from japan than buying them from a reseller,
I paid something like 20-25 USD for my Full mechanics Aerial, and some robot spirits figures are even cheaper than that, if anything, to me it's more expensive to buy the basic transformers figures in a walmart than buying a gundam robot spirits or model kit figure from japan
It all depends on who can turn into cars and boats and planes, if both can do that, they are dope 😊
i like both. i want transformers and gundam team work together
I'm kinda leaning more towards Gundam. I just prefer it's storytelling over Transformers.
It's much more consistent and instead of always appealing to younger folk, Gundam actually atempts to appeal to everyone and it works.
Both franchises focuses on wars, the only difference is, Gundam is a war of real robots while Transformers is a super robot ones
I still like transformers more but I don’t care what people like👍
Me too
Me three
Me four
I prefer Brave series
3:52 didn't know optimus was that hot
My suggestion is that if you want to compare, it's better to use HG Gundam or Robot Spirit Gundam
I have a Bumblebee movie Voyager class Optimus and a custom HG Exia, so I guess I count as a fan of both franchises.
8:50 Oh that's cursed
I already subscribed
Eehh depends on who you ask too they are both good I like both I like how transformers have a TON of mechanical detail. I love that and also yeah they do transform which is also fun. Although I just keep them in their robot mode so I also liked Gundam too just giant robot. They both have pros and cons but they are both REAL AWESOME like no lie. My favorite Gundam is the PG astray red frame and my now favorite transformer is the tr - 02 commander of the stars. So they are both great lines and franchises
I think it depends on wich figures you buy
I don't like having to build every figure I like the look of, nor being unable to play much woth it when finished. So for overall, I go with Transformers as my main robot fix. I also have more attachment to the lore and worldbuilding there, where as I general hate most Gundam shows even when the designs are great. Honestly, it's just two different audiences. Apples to oranges.
As a gundam fan, I can agree to say that this take is totally valid
If you want good gundam figures go for the model kits the HGUC line has the most and they only fit together visually
Bro, you forgot about rx-78s arm bend and chars double bend, and his head raise no hate
The way I see it is each has their own gimmick. Gunpla’s main gimmick is the build. That’s what separates them from normal action figures. However, a transformer’s main gimmick is its transformation. Neither is better than the other imo because they focus on two different things. And yes I do know some gunpla do have a transformation but it isn’t the main focus.
Soundwave superior.
I feel like unfair compare, Another one are kid toy built for a kid to play and collectable and another one are scale model built for adult collector and display.
Modern TF should compare to modern machine robo line. And Gundam should compare to Frame Arm or Zoids or modelriod.
Or TF model like Yolopark or Dmk vs PG gundam.
...that's it?
that's the transformers vs Gundam episode?!
it was just a rebuild of past reviews!
ARRRRGHHHH MECHAZEE BETRAYED US
When it comes to fiction and lore, I prefer Transformers. In terms of toys, collectibles, and merchandise I prefer Gundam model kits because I like building things and the end result is incredible. That's why I enjoy building and collecting lego sets.
I love both so they are both equal to me.
i like both Transformers and Gundam
If you start looking into master/real/perfect grades, the Gundam model kit line shits all over everything.
3:46 Baron da
WELL LET THE WAR CRIMES ROLL
I mean as much as I love transformers, it’s kinda backseated to gundam. I’m deep into my model kits at this point and I’m even pushing out to get into a few other kit companies. But the legacy armada Optimus prime goes mega hard
also the gundam you picked is based on a livesized model the older one so its got its legs where they make bigger to make it look bigger from the ground not beucase htey ufckedhte dog
Metal builds and metal robot spirits beat transformers model like freaking hard but its just too expensive
Should have compared flagships not just random ones
Gundam cost depand on seize HG MG RG PG SG and premium bandai $$
❤️... ROTB Transformers... Shout out to jmav David 😅
Literally bought my 2 year old gundam instead of transformers because they were cooler, better built and actually cheaper haha he was so excited too
Calling them beatsabers forever now
Did you just copy paste your reviews and play them in tandom just go fill the run time??
Ngl you picked bad kits I would have gotten a witch from mercury kit or a rg
Transformers allday everyday
Which is better: Oreos or Doritos?
I love gundam
Transformers is better but ironically some Gunpla kits are cheaper than Transformers are now. (Or at least where I live)
3:47 gaim
The reason why I hate gundams, is because they all want to explode in my hands.
I have had several gundams, no grade Sandrock, MG Sinanju, MG Unicorn, 100 scale Schwalbe.
NOT A SINGLE ONE OF THEM HAD PARTS THAT DIDN'T FALL OFF!! I would rather take screws than loose pegs.
I build Gundam model kit occasionally. But I no longer have that much spare time anymore. And lately I got pretty bored with Gundam design, they are pretty much boring, nothing new.
I shifted to Transformers as they have wild variety of design. As toys, they are pretty sturdy and playable. And they are (mostly) cheaper than Gundam kit.
18:40
I suppose it's what you're after. Transformers are largely toys whereas Gunpla are largely model kits. You're not going to get the same type of value from the object in question.
You bought chipper Gundams
I got an Gundam 4 days ago I got the RX 78-F00
There's no comparing a pathetic Gundam to a Transformer!!!
In my opinion I say Transformers Figures are better because I love Transformers more than Gundam
What war crime is this
WAR CRIME WAR CRIME WAR CRIME
u should get a gunpla instead it is much better

Soundwave, 2023
No.
He picked the worst gundam universe figure 😭 (the unicorn gundam)
kinda lost interest and stopped watching when model kits were included in the comparison because that makes it wholly unfair for TF entirely

Fun fact:wing gundam is the first gundam that can transform to flight mode
A number of transforming Gundams looked kinda lame. The peak transforming Gundams are in Zeta and ZZ series. Wacky Titans' Transformers really set the bar on transforming mobile suits.
Also, Gundam Wing didn't invent the idea of transforming Gundam. It was indeed Zeta Gundam. Check your fact first before posting 🗿
not completly True the First Transforming Gundam was the Zeta Gundam from Zeta Gundam that was relesed 10 years befor Gundam Wing . Gundam Wing ws the First popular in West
You're comparing kids toys with model kits made for hobbyists, whats the point
The Gundam discrimination of this dude really, I think Transformers toys are dumb there parts are always disconnecting and terrible and there so simplistic and there car transformations are totally stupid.
Um Transformers are better they transform. Don't get me wrong Gundam is cool I have some cheaper figures but they don't transform so Transformers ftw!
Not true, a ton of mobile suits from gundam can transform, most recent kit being the new Ver Ka Zeta Gundam.
gundams transform too lol
Gundams are better all the way. As toy, they offer both quantity and quality, as animated series, they offer high quality animation and stories. Also the Gundam Universe is way larger than Transformers Universe.
The trouble with transformers is low quality constant releases of bad designs of the same characters saturating the market. Also Hasbro engineering is almost obsolete, while gundam model kits allow people to snap pieces together to get an almost seamless robot with vibrant colors without glue or paint, factory assembled Transformers are full of cheap molding solutions, large screws, hollow limbs, color mismatch, bad painting, deep seams, etc.
Yeah but transformers can become car truck and other vichicle and very mechanic
@@marcoreyes6079 yes those are two diferents concepts but overall Gundam has been more constant with better quality on media and toys
I'll have to disagree, especially when you have to take into account that Transformers was and is geared to younger audiences when it came to its stories and shows before Beast Wars. They weren't based on anything except a couple of artists' imagination in comparison to someone who has been in the animation business for a long time.
Both universes are pretty big, and we can't denounce one to put up another. They are great in their own ways. Transformers are typically more expensive in the East than Gundam toys, which probably also plays into why Transformers aren't as popular as it is in the West. I understand you may like Gundam more than TF, but bad designs is a large stretch. It's just that some characters are more marketable than others, because of brand recognition. Another reason why 0079 is still getting "constant releases" of the notable characters too.
@@jorgehcampos1054 DID YOU SAY *GUNDAM!?!?👹👹👹👹👹👹👹*
