Tattoos makes me think of motorcycle gangs, jailbirds or sailors. It's not a very classy thing to have on the skin ..but maybe that's telling more about my age than anything else.
Very lovely and I dare say, sexy. These 'old fashion' ladies' swimsuits are modest in what they cover, yet at the same time sexy because of what they leave to the imagination.
You can see the Tarzan scenes in one of my very first videos. (Be warned, it’s those very scenes that made UA-cam age-restrict the video.) ua-cam.com/video/7SdC0tCkh9o/v-deo.html
I heard they renewed the length of leg visible on beaches rule and you had to go to Idaho if you wanted the job One applicant asked "Why Idaho, there aren't any beaches there?" He was told that's where the end of the queue is!
My mother said she was beyond shocked when she was a tween and saw the movie "Flying down to Rio" in the theatre. There was a segment where a bunch of women are standing on an airplane wing supposedly flying up in the air and the women are naked except for flimsy pieces of transparent fabric clinging to them threatening to fly away at any moment. I doubt that segment is to be found in 2022.
The full sequence is in my Classic Clips Vol. 49, which I uploaded yesterday and will become public soon. A brief clip of the sequence is also in one of any first videos, Pre-Code: Bare Necessities, at about 1:22. UA-cam has age-restricted the video, which can be found here: ua-cam.com/video/7SdC0tCkh9o/v-deo.html
at about 2.18 the actor said "... I'll take a hold of your bathers" etc. . In Australia, pre and post WW2, that term "bathers" for swimming apparel, was the common term used in Melbourne VIC Australia (& maybe others as well). Just when I got used to the American term, "Swimsuit" --- what an inappropriate term esp for bikinis, and not ok for (USA) men in 2021 wearing what amounts to 'circus tents'.
While often referred to as the “Hays’ Code”, it was actually Joesph Breen who headed the PCA (Production Code Administration) when the Code was strictly enforced.

No silicone implants either.🤩🤩🤩❤❤❤👍👍👍
Probably no razor burns, if you get my drift.

Body graffiti!
What's gonna happen to them in 30-40 years as the inks fade and disperse? Blechh!
“I just wanted to see you a moment “
“Well....why don’t you just take off your clothes and stay a while”
Gotta love the pre code days! 🤣🤣🤣
Another super job! And I think all those suits were made of wool.
There was no under garment so they were like a wet t-shirt contest when wet.
That was the earlier suits ... these had the new " Latex " added to the suit.....so it wasn't as heavy........

Darn if those dames ain´t swell.

Some real tomatas.
They make something on me 'swell' for sure.

I was expecting to see some of the bathing beauties in the Busby Berkeley musical number "By A Waterfall".
Nice gams, toots 😉

the Joe E. Brown clips were the best.
My Dad saw Joe E. Brown overseas during WWII. Those entertainers were very patriotic to travel halfway around the world for the troops!

So bizarre to hear Edward Everett Horton flirting about freckles.
Cool to see him. I only know him as the narrator of Fractured Fairy Tales on the Rocky and Bullwinkle Show.

Very interesting
One of these days, women will learn that a one piece swimsuit is sexy.
Women themselves are sexy no matter what they wear or don't wear. Efforts to concentrate on clothing have always been doomed to failure.
Especially if it's half of a 2 piece.

Any way to make the titles show on the screen, like before?
Because several of the clips last less than 3 seconds, I decided to simply list the film titles in the order they appear.

Post WW2 through '50s, Anglo America called it "bathing suit," and the rubber cap to keep women's hairdos dry, a "bathing cap."
