I love your "translation"😁 of the foto into the painting!😍🥰 Thank you so much for sharing with us your process (corrections included). It was a bit fast if you ask my eyes, but my soul was enjoying immensely.❤ The gate at the begining made me think of a "female Budha"😊 ... It's really beautiful. BTW: You've been spoiling us with your videos 😂❤
That's what I thought about the gate too!! Thanks ever so much for your kind words! I'm never sure about how fast to do things, though currently my slow upload time is dictating things!
I know you dont feel happy with the house but i love the whole painting and all the different media, so inspiring😍 Also loving the size of your new sketchbook, it looks like it's going to be lots of fun! x
This is such a gorgeous mixed media piece Helen. I love all the layers of color, really gorgeous! You're inspiring me to get one of these sketchbooks - I'm always worried about going bigger, but I think it looks quite freeing actually!
Thank you! It felt very intimidating at first, but knowing it's not a crazy expensive book makes me feeling more like just going for it! I hope you do!
Fascinating how out of splotches a picture appears, like a Phoenix from the ashes! We see minutes of hours of work, I thought all the windows looked good but, to each his own! Like the pathway & shadows too, glad you re- fitted the glass/ windows. Very clever how different mediums can re-act well together & the paper didn’t seem to crinkle too much! Thanks
Exactly my thoughts, too! Thanks for writing it in such a beautiful poetical way. I'm not a native speaker, and besides there're usually many things I want to mention in my comment under Helen's video, and I get lost in words ... 🫣😆
I really enjoyed how you built up the dappled shade of the road and your trees in particular. It does feel like standing in the shade and gazing into the morning distance.
I have one of those White Nights watercolor tins in my collection, and its my absolute favorite. I love that they fit 5 rows and didn't waste any space, and I love the lavender color especially! I hope we will be able to purchase them again soon.
It looked like you were having great fun there. Loving all those greens! Those watercolour pens are luffly. 😍A nice tool to add definition without dragging too much. What a gorgeous setting to explore and paint! I had a feeling you would paint this scene when I saw your photos. 😂 I can't believe it's been a week already! xx
Hiya!! I'm definitely spoilt for choice here with nice views to paint! Very green ones! Been very tired though, so not as much art as I'd hoped for... yet!
Like everyone else, I think the house looks just fine! I like the entire painting! (Although, you have given me an idea for how I might use my titanium white paint in the future 😂.) Loved seeing the video of the grounds, it looks like a beautiful spot to visit and that fence is just gorgeous ❤.
I love how you caught the light and think the house looks just fine. It’s good to see how you use the brush pens too…I have a few of the albrecht dürer pens but never really know how to use them. We’ll be staying about half an hour from the Domaine in September so will try to visit it - it looks beautiful! I hope the temperature is comfortable in Brittany!
Oh wow - I hope you get to visit it! It's a very peaceful place. I don't use the brush pens a lot, as they're very concentrated, but I'd like to try and do more with the paler colours.
Dear Mrs Helen, I much enjoy your artistic talent evolving. Next time consider performing your drawing on a material that allows you to frame it which helps you to continue working on it at interrupted time until you are fully satisfied with your outcome.:-)
Thanks so much! I kind of like having things in sketchbooks though, and after a certain length of time I get bored of doing the same picture, so this works for me really.
I think they're a bit weird to work with because they're so concentrated, and what paper you use/how long you allow them to dry for really makes a huge difference.
I like the house. I liked it both times you did it!!! I think these pages look great and it was very pleasant watching. But the real question is - who won the tournament??😂
I love this kind of loose watercolor paintings...makes me want to get a huge sketchbook and just go at it 😍😍😍😍😍
I really hope you do!!
There’s wonderful depth in this painting with great emphasis on lights and darks… 🙏🎨🇿🇦🙏🎨🇿🇦🙏
That's very kind of you, thanks!
Just beautiful thank you for sharing your beautiful art 🖼️ ❤❤❤
Thanks so much!!
Such a beautiful piece! All these nice greens...

@@helencryer Yes, I watched your today's video, and I absolutely get it! Don't worry. ❤️😘
I kinda love the way watercolour reacts on this paper!
Yes! It's definitely but watercolour paper, but it makes the paint move/mix interestingly!
I really enjoy your paintings. I learn a lot and am relaxed.
Thanks so much!
This is so incredibly beautiful! I love this~ and I don't care what you think 😜❤️✝️
Haha!! Thank you!!!

@@nisamorin2519 Thanks I especially enjoy the scenery Helen usually starts with. I’m not usually „poetic!“
Thank you so much both of you!! I really do appreciate your lovely comments!
Lovely to watch the process in this painting. You've really captured the light at the top x
Thank you! Some bits I liked more than others, but all good practice!
A fun and light painting! Just a joy to watch it develop, thank you for your art!
Another lovely sketch. I love how you leave a lot of whites.
Hi! Thanks ever so much!
I really enjoyed how you built up the dappled shade of the road and your trees in particular. It does feel like standing in the shade and gazing into the morning distance.
That's so nice - thank you!!
Stunning venue stunning picture those watercolour pens look good and very juicy
Yes, it's a gorgeous peaceful place! I think all three of the pen brands are lovely in their own ways.
I have one of those White Nights watercolor tins in my collection, and its my absolute favorite. I love that they fit 5 rows and didn't waste any space, and I love the lavender color especially! I hope we will be able to purchase them again soon.
Yep, it's a great design! I have all my Rosa Gallery in another. I wish another company would make something similar.

Really enjoyed watching this.
I'm very glad!
Lovely❤

Wow!! Love your process and how you make that Talens paper sing with watercolors!! I might have to try again!!
Thanks so much!

Wow the place is gorgeous! And I loved your sketch, the photo you took looks so nice if possible I would like to paint it one day 😊
It really is a lovely place - so so peaceful.

I'm new to your channel. I like your loose style and use of mixed media. I've subscribed so I'll be checking in to see what you do next time.
That's very kind of you, thank you!
Hi Helen! I hope you are enjoying your stay in France 😊. What’s the tooth of the paper like?
Hiya, thanks! It's quite smooth paper, but still has enough tooth to take a decent amount of layers etc.
@@helencryer Thanks!
Love the painting! I struggle with watercolor markers so much. I just can’t seem to make them work.
I think they're a bit weird to work with because they're so concentrated, and what paper you use/how long you allow them to dry for really makes a huge difference.
I like the house. I liked it both times you did it!!! I think these pages look great and it was very pleasant watching. But the real question is - who won the tournament??😂
Haha!!! My hubby did! He doesn't go easy on the kids (though they're all big, so fair enough!) And thank you!
