Hello! I am a 68 year old new photographer who bought a P1000 Nikon recently and then quickly realized the P1000 wasn’t what I really want to be using. It’s fun and novel, but I believe I just needed more in regards to resolution, detail and expression. The P1000 is fun to zoom around with, but that was about all it did. After investigating more and more, and then coming across your wonderful channel, last night I bit the bullet and made the decision to buy a Cannon R6 Mark 2 with a RF 200-800 f/6.3-9 Cannon lens. I’m hoping that the new camera and lens will take me further in my learning as I gain more experience. The camera and lens hasn’t arrived yet, so in the mean time I’m devouring your videos. You have helped me in not only understanding more about photography, but just as importantly, the excitement that is welling up within me as I anticipate what could be down the road for me as I learn. I was shooting birds in my back yard yesterday for the second time ever with the P1000 on my makeshift bird feeder and I couldn’t believe how absolutely enjoyable it was! I figured I’d do some novice experimenting, and upped the shutter speed hoping to stop the raindrops in midair as the birds fed on seeds - and it worked! I consider myself a tough guy, having shot big firearms and ridden fast motorcycles my whole life, but I wasn’t ready for almost my weeping when I saw an image come up on screen of something I just composed on a camera. 4:34min i am watching your channel a while mate and we gotta find a name for that photography face you make when the cam goes onto your nose. teeth are out and tong biting starts like you are fighting a tiger 😂😬😬😬 now if you excuuuuuuse me i am taking my new R7 and go out to use my new knowledge about hummingbirds. there must be some of them where i live!

I could have spent a month in Santa Elena alone, photographing birds there! I'm absolutely loving the slow-mo videos (and of course the photos too)!
