In my admittedly biased opinion (see below), yes, the Ergo Pro II is the superior product. The Avila is far more more complicated to set up and fold up. The Ergo Pro is easier and quicker to adjust for both client and practitioner comfort. The Avila doesn't have removable leg rests and is rated to carry a working weight of only 350 lbs; vs. the Ergo Pro's 600 lbs. Oh, and the Ergo Pro is currently $30 less expensive. Besides developing the first professional massage chair in 1986 (the now extinct Living Earth Crafts "chair-in-a-box"), I also co-designed the Ergo Pro, though I currently have no formal relationship with the manufacturer, other than as a distributor. Fun fact, in case you didn't know it already, Earthlite (Avila) owns both the Stronglite (ErgoPro) brand and the Living Earth Crafts brand. As the titular "father" of contemporary chair massage, I take seriously my responsibility to recommend only the best chair currently on the market. If you have have the money to develop a better chair than the Ergo Pro, let me know...
