Would love to have seen him doing this. Amazing. I did see him at an after show party once in the Glasgow Garage nightclub back in 1995. He'd played the SECC earlier in front of 10 thousand and then rocked up with the NPG at about 1.30am and played to just 700 of us for two hours . Mental!!

He's one of the most acclaimed guitarists of all time. He's literally the opposite of underrated.

The day after he died I was sitting in Jensens steak house in oslo norway with my girlfriend and her friends and then it started snowing

"Sometimes It Snows In April" was the first song I listened to after my mom died in 2014. She died at the end of April that year, and it took me days to get to the point where I could listen to music again. I find the lyrics of this song to be very poignant to my mom's life and death. Thank you, Prince, for the precious gift of your music - especially this song that I hold very dear to my heart.

Can relate, my sister died age 49 from cancer she fought to see her last Christmas with her children and died on Jan 1st, and she was called Tracey.

Totally agree, his music really gets through your flesh into to the bone, he trully had a skill of setting a stage for all sorts of emotions, invoking deep desire to move, to feel...and taking you on a journey he imagined..i think this is because he was such a visceral and movement loving person himself..

Damn, so much talent in one small package. To think he had enough recorded music in the vault to release an album every year for the next 100 years. There are also 50 fully produced videos for songs we have never heard that will be released eventually. He really was one of the most prolific creators of music in history. I wish he was still here on this planet, but knowing there is so much unreleased completed material that will one day be shared with the universe is exciting. Rest in peace Prince Rodgers Nelson.

He was literally a musical genius, and he was a perfectionist. My brother knows a guy who played with Prince on stage. He said if you made a mistake of any kind in a live performance (and Prince caught every mistake) he would dock your pay, and not by a small amount, for each mistake.

I've seen most all of what people consider to be the great guitarists, most of them multiple times.
Prince was at the very top and would have embarrassed a lot of the so called greats.
His guitar work was overshadowed by his showmanship, both of which were the best this world had to offer.

I've spent many a hazy night barely remembering the frenzy of music, booze, and dancing at Webster Hall back in those days. I like to pretend that this performance took place while I was there in the background desperately trying to get a bartender's attention for another drink. Prince is a legend and this venue is icon.
