This is one of those anime where you feel bad for the suckers that watched the original broadcast because they had to wait literal months for something to actually happen.
I spent 2023 immersing myself completely into S;G, it began by watching the anime for 6th time and i felt like i had not had enough, so i did the insane marathon of watching the original, 0, ova's, movie, stage play (yes, there's a stageplay called "the living ADV", you can find eng sub version on youtube), read the (translated) mangas, played the visual novels and listened to the Drama CD's (with english subs). After that marathon was over, i did it again... twice, my brain was nothing but S;G for 6 months straight.

Hearing a thorough and accurate retelling of Steins in 35 minutes is absolutely fucking insane. I could just imagine hearing this if you HADN'T seen it before. Holy shit.
Okabe is such a good character. He starts the story making it nigh impossible to watch due to secondhand embarrassment but by the end his eccentric antics become endearing. I never thought I would actually get goosebumps from hearing him start his goofy kyouma voice but the end of steins gate and steins gate zero made that happen
You're a pretty cool dude. You're also incredibly smart. I WISH I was able to take away/or get the deeeep philosophical ideas these creators bake into these shows. This video and angels egg both being great examples of exactly what I mean. Just don't over do it man. Look forward to all your future work
I love what is unsaid in S;G For example, it might seem very unlikely that Okabe would "accidentally" discover a time machine with humble components like a microwave oven, although I think most of the audience is willing to suspend disbelief, just because it's anime. But, reflecting on events in the series, one can imagine that maybe a rogue SERN member actually manipulated Okabe into creating a time machine (or even clandestinely put in additional parts), or it could be a future/alternate timeline Okabe himself, or Suzuha Amane... Once you go through the season and grok how time travel works, the possibilities are endless. There are few series that inspire me to think of things like this, basically suggesting fanfiction episode after episode. Finally, the emotional impact is prioritized over technicalities, especially contradictions between the first and second seasons (Steins;Gate 0) the main one being able to travel forwards as well as backwards.
Great video! One of those anime, where I was never able to pinpoint exactly why I liked it. Can you maybe make a "Making Sense of Umineko" and/or a "Making Sense of Madoka Magica" (even though it might be better to wait for the movie to release for that)

I'm two months late, but I'd like to point out a few things. The Stein's Gate worldline is explicitly stated not to necessarily be the perfect world, not necessarily the world where there is no war. It is very possible that the outcome of going to that worldline may be worse than remaining in any of the previous ones. But, as the worldline between the alpha and beta attractor fields, the worldline where nothing is set in stone, it is the worldline where everything is possible, free from the hands of fate forcing the convergence of worldlines previously. A barrier wasn't crossed to reach the final worldline; rather Okabe realized that the best outcome can only be reached by becoming the world's greatest fence-sitter. On another note, that final scene where Okabe returns to the future has plot holes. Worldlines work because they prevent paradoxes, as stated and previously established, so even if the events that made the current Suzuha no longer occur in this future, they still did occur in another worldline, the previous worldline, so she shouldn't have disappeared. Also, when Okabe returned to the future, what happened to the Okabe who found Kurisu's "corpse"? Did he just disappear into thin air? If there were 2 Okabes in the past, shouldn't there still be 2 Okabes in the future, since (using the same logic as why Suzuha shouldn't have disappeared) this Okabe was from a different worldline? I love this anime, I read the VN, I read the rest of the VNs in the semicolon series, but this ending still feels slightly forced due to breaking its own established rules just to get a happy ending. I feel like they could have gotten the happy ending without breaking their own rules too, so I'm still just a bit salty.
@heysiri3327 I'm curious to hear your opinion on the subject of how each franchise handles its time traveling rules. Oh, and Chrono Trigger is a game, not an anime, in case if you didn't know.

@heysiri3327 I can't quite tell you how time travel works out fear of being a spoiler, though since you'll probably be spoiled anyway, I'll tell you the many ports/versions of Chrono Trigger to check out (to my knowledge of having played the Steam version: 1. SNES: The classic and "honorable" way to play Chrono Trigger. Since it is the SNES version, attacks can muffle parts of the game's battle music, and the translation that Ted Woolsey made is a bit rough (most likely because Square didn't give him enough to fully translate the game) but iconic to some people. 2. PS1: It's pretty much the SNES port, but with anime cutscenes and slower battle transitions... :/ 3. DS: This version is often considered the definitive port of Chrono Trigger. It has a completely new translation done Tom Slattery. It also adds a bit more content, though it's quite repetitive (specifically the one containing green portals). The content added for the post-game, known as the Dimensional Vortex, however, is much less egregious than everything else, so there's that. 4. Mobile/iOS/Android: This port is the same as DS, but it has a completely new sprite filter that you can't change. It does have an auto-battle command and controller support. 5. Steam: This is basically the mobile port, but the sprite filter is set to the default classic filter. It is also currently the fastest version of Chrono Trigger, as the auto-battle causes the game to move extremely fast. It does allow you to move diagonally on the overworld and still has controller support. Also, if you're thinking of playing Chrono Trigger, try stopping by the Mayor's House, as you can learn just a bit more of the game's mechanics.
