"Ultimately you'll have to build your own perspective of how things work". 😍
problems which i face are usually most of these job postings have a huge misconception about ui/ux in general. lot of these postings are really like they don't even know what they're hiring for. they'll put ui ux but are actually looking for a graphic designer and expect you to be proficient in tools like illustrator etc. or they're looking for a front end developer. with extensive coding knowledge. are such places an immediate red flags?
Got a lot to know how things work. Thanks 👍
Ps: How can we make scannable case studies?
Sir, I am looking for a job in design as a UI UX designer/product designer but no one wants to hire a fresher. I see freshers doing freelancing but what if someone who is like me wants to do job a at the company? In every job, description companies are asking for previous experience. And no UA-camrs want to address this issue 😒
I have many students who got offers as freshers.
Ajinkya, you need to understand that getting a UX job is not easy. It doesn’t just work by looking for a role and applying. You need to much more.
Firstly, you need to become the person who is ‘hireable’. Only then you we’ll get hired. How do we become hireable? By upskilling.
But we focus a lot on directly applying and not on learning to become a designer first. It’s like feeling bad that you are not allowed into a race without even becoming a driver first.
So, focus on learning first. And then as a part of it, do some dummy projects and showcase your skills.
If your portfolio is good (genuine and is not like some templated one) the same company which said they don’t want freshers will want to talk with you. It happened to many of my students.
On top of it, you also need to learn the skill of fishing in the right pond. You went fishing in one random pond and you are thinking entire fishing industry works like this. No!
I mentor my students in detail about this. How is it that you find a company which is looking for a person like you, a fresher? Is it always that you apply through portals or is there something else that can be done?
Think in this way bro. Your career direction will forever change!
@@UXAnudeep Understood Sir! Points noted, will apply as per your way 🥂
Do companies also look for/need a bachelor's/graduation degree ( any background or stream ) mandatorily apart from one's skills and portfolio while hiring UI/UX designers, or is it like one who's just 12th pass/dropped out of college/graduation however has required skills/portfolio to get hired as fresher UI/UX designer is sufficient enough to get hired or get a job ?
Hi Anudeep! love your videos. One question for you is how should we make our portfolio more scannable? like should the case study focused more on visuals rather than long texts?
Hi Anudeep, I came across this video today and liked it a lot. U have mentioned very practical and realistic ways of approaching for a job and thought process behind being hired. I am an entry-level UX Designer. ( not a fresher but a returnee Mom after a yr gap of 4yrs.)
I wanted to ask What are my chances to get picked/selected?
Secondly if i get picked by anyone should I accept the offer just for the sake of getting some insights or experience (even though I feel its undervalued) or should I wait and work on the portfolio and work on more redesigning and case studies improvement??? And then reapply for a better opportunity.?
Great tutor 🙏
Summary (from my perspective):
- Building your portfolio, applying to jobs, hiring people and getting hired, everything is a design problem.
- Understand your user and keep iterating.
- And in the process of solving problems, you will build your own perspective (which is most valuable).
Bhaii nice spects
Could you please give a rough idea about UIUX salary for freshers?
