We visited Blackfalds after seeing your video on it and you are correct, hardly any businesses. The Abby center is in the part of town that I don't think is the safest. I will not le my kid, if I had any, walk to the center by themselves. Well that is how it looked like when we drove around. Also if you live west of the railway tracks, you're cut off when a train goes by. Not fun when one needs to get to work and you're stuck behind a train. We were there around noon and we were in a line up because of the train.
I love Lacombe. It has my favorite restaurant: Leto's. We drive from Devon once a year to go have a steak.

I did see why you love English Estate in Lacombe. Beautiful but definitely above my pay grade. One of the comments I read on you Lacombe video said Woodlands. So we drove through that area too. Love it. Definitely more in the price range of the middle class folks like us.
I didn't drive through any neighborhood in Lacombe where I felt that it wouldn't be so safe

We drove through Innisfail as well. Last year I think. It has a big solar farm just north west of it. Wonder if it powers the town or part of it at least. I must say if I have to choose between Blackfalds and Inisfail, I would choose the latter. Maybe because it's older, it has more a live in feeling. Both times we visited these 2 towns we were there during the summer holidays. I usually judge a place, and it might be skew, by how many kids I see walk around without an adult present. I saw kids in Innisfail walking. Now I did read a comment once on one of your videos where the person said the characters comes out at night in Innisfail, that it's not such safe place. The only problem for me in Innisfail is that most of the houses are old and overpriced. I love older homes because I think they have more character, but most of the ones in Innisfail are not worth the asking price.

Blackfalds is safe too. Near the abbey centre is a good area

The closeness to the airport might not be a good selling point for Penhold. The busier the airport will be, the more polluted the air will be due to the planes exhaust fumes. And it might be noisy with the planes being low. It is neat to see them come in when we visit Leduc but I don't want to live close to an airport

Some reason I like good ol' Drayton Valley. The homes there are to big, requiring big hydro bills and sky-high property taxes. If it was my choice, I would buy rawland as much as possible. Start there build later. Being around Reddeer makes all kinds of sense.
