- Sns, the "beginner weapon". Or so they say. You see, this "newbie weapon" stigma is merely a diversion. A barrier of sorts to keep such tremendous power away from undeserving hands. Those who are wise enough to wield this weapon will find it hard to put it down, for the wielder does not choose the sword and shield, they choose their wielders. And those who are chosen will be blessed with power other weapons can only dream of: Powerful, high damage yet low commitment combos, fast advancing attacks, a move with almost half a second of i-frames, free jump attacks, etc.
Oh, and uh, I killed Alatreon. Probably important to mention.

Based on my own gameplay and the crap guide series "a devourer of gods" is an understatement because I can annihilate that worm in calamity mod but the SnS remains above all
Found this video by chance and happen to main SnS. Undoubtedly the most underated weapon, maybe even slept on. On the speedrunners tier list, people would think that it would be in the bottom four, but it is actually in the top half, above switch axe, charge blade, hammer, and.......Longsword. Perfect rush just does a lot of good raw and elemental damage. This was a great video, greater to see people pick up the weapon
You should also master the backhop since it has more invincibility frames than a standard Dodge. Backhop can be done from just the guard stance and can be extremely useful
Backhop is something I'm always tempted to use but try not to. Mainly because I run evade window on my build, so I rarely find myself needing to risk messing up the input for backhop and dying.
It is a great move for punishing roars though, and I'm working on incorporating it my play more often
The most underrated weapon is lance btw, also because it's in the last position of the 14 weapons. Hunting horn was disputing it with lance but now got buffed on Rise so it's now way more used. Lance, otherwise, didn't change

As someone who's only gotten into the series recently with world and just started iceborne it makes me happy that the class I've been maining is actually good. Been in doubt for a while about changing classes cuz i see most people use gs, hammer or other weapons but i really like sns and i haven't been to struggling much yet.
All the weapons are generally good in mh, mostly just different flavors of good
(Some are good-er though cough cough longsword cough)

That bad boy has gotten me clears of Fatalis, Alatreon, Safi'Jiivah, Ancient Leshen, Behemoth, ATs, Risens - this bad boy has liberated and granted me the skill to win some of the hardest fights in the game.

I mained SnS in 4U and GU, but I really can’t get into World’s SnS.
It just feels weirdly clunky and it’s range just feels even worse.
Well, GU sns is kinda broken so maybe that's why.

Well, there is a difference in style between pewds and I. His doesn't require as much editing, and the editing that he does do works wonders for him and his content, which is what really matters. Guess my point is just that the amount of editing isn't really reflective of the videos quality.

I mean, it depends on how you play. I get my usual time with sns but I can't even get sub 20 with lbg
If you know how to play SNS well you will consistently get sub 10 mins. Same as other weapons, if you know how to play em, 10 mins is your time max.

Sword and shield... Is a bizzare weapon. Not because its complex, not because its hard to understand or play with... Its one of the simplest weapons there is. A shield, and a sword. And thats it.
Every other weapon, although dealing in theory more damage, can fail, any other weapon has a weakness, every other weapon has a catch, but the sword and shield? It laughs, for it has, none.
