Just to clear up the misleading information , you need 2 gauge thicker aluminum to equal the same gauge copper. A 2 gauge aluminum wire is equivalent to a 4 gauge copper wire, You'd have to have a 0 ought (zero-ought) aluminum wire to be equivalent to a 2 gauge copper wire. Once you start mixing elements there's no telling what you're getting is the problem. Take synthetic oil blend for example you would think it would be at least 50/50 but it's not it's normally only 10% to 25% synthetic, but who really knows right, so be cautious and careful with items that have mixed elements without specifics. Caveat emptor / buyer beware.
