You need to install and configure WP SMTP plugin and insert the mail details with host, email, password and port number. Once you do this, you will start receiving emails in your inbox.

Not at all. The plugins which are heavily loaded with features and files may reduce the speed. This is just a minor plugin. I have been using for 6 years and working so well
