For me, I worked through the numbers to justify spending 2K gems on 15 expeditions and then another 10K gems on 15 expeditions to determine if I thought it was worth it. I ended up only spending the 2K gems, not the 10K.
I think its better to not buy the 3rd slot for 10k gems, Instead of 45 chest u get 30 common chest minimum, which will be atleast 10 premium chest, so min 3 exquisite radiance tressure, so min 6 shards for only 2k gems, remaining 10k gems u can save it for lucky spin, lucky spin is more value if u include the guaranteed shards
I have a question, the event says that after the event ends there will be an extra day to collect treasures to open chests or assemble them, but in the calendar it says it ends today, so I don't know if the extra day doesn't appear in the calendar or it's just a bait to not assemble the chest in time?
I got 3 dazzling & 1 exquisite chest as f2p. So basically I got 32 shards for 12k gems. I think next time dev is going to reduce the dazzling chest's chance. Current drop rate is not good for their pocket 🤣🤣
I got very lucky with dazzling chest in this event the chance is hard to get is hard but I got 3 dazzling chest and 1 exquisite chest on my main account 😍 for my farm I only got 1 dazzling chest and 2 exquisite chest it seems I get another exquisite chest on farm account 😅

On the extra day, you cannot do any expedition but you can collect last expedition chest and you can assemble
What you said is true that spending 12k gems is worth it I got 24 mythic gear in that event hehehehe
