You are right. He is one of the greatest. I wish, he lived a little longer and could have given us a lot more melodious songs. Most of the music directors from that era were pretty good. My favorite is S.D. Burman.

Madan Mohan isn't complete without the gems of Talat Mahmood. Very few songs in this list come close to Meri yaad main tum nah asoon bahana, Main Pagal Tera Manwa Pagal, Phir Wohi Shaam.
And the gems of mohd Rafi like 'tujhe kyah sunaaon hai dilrubah', 'teri aankhon ke siwa' are missing. This looks like more Latha Mangeshkar-centric.
