I think all true sports lovers irrespective of nationality will be happy today for Arshad. Instead of saying he broke India's heart, at least appreciate his talent. He has thrown over 90m 3 times now in his overall career, and twice in this Olympics itself. The guy didn't even have a javelin, no facilities at all from Pakistan. Still he out-shone and out performed every one by his sheer talent and determination. Neeraj also did well, but unfortunately had several fouls. Winning silver medal in Olympics is also huge achievement, and he had won gold last time.

I think India did well in the Olympics. We still have 5 medals from 3 different sports and could have been 6 from 4 different sports if Vinesh was not disqualified. In future we have great potential in games like hockey, archery, shooting, wrestling and some athletics events.

Those sportspersons did well. But India did badly. 4 bronzes and 1 silver don't do justice to the expenses incurred and the stature that we aspire to. Forget US and China, we are far behind countries from the Caribbean and East Africa. If we keep telling ourselves that we did really well, we will be deluding ourselves.
@@kstiss Objectively its true but still I will say India compared to its own poor track record in past has been doing well in last two Olympics and govt investing money is a good thing. Expenses just increase probability and there is always uncertainty about number of medals won like we lost probable medals in badminton and wrestling etc. From a potential and future perspective I see it as a good Olympic for India.

It was not a freak throw because Arshad threw 91.7 meters in his last throw as well. Even the last throw would've been a new Olympic Record and Gold medal. Arshad has crossed the 90 meter mark 3 times in his career so he is consistent in that. Congratulations to Neeraj Chopra on his Silver medal as well for his excellent sportsmanship and best of luck to him....from Pakistan.

Arshad ha always been explosive and unpredictable. On his day he throws 90 or near about 90 and on other days fails to even throw 85 . This was one of his good days . Neeraj on the other hand is consistent in the range of 88-89.5. So one is explosive while the other is consistent. Anyways I am already excited to the them compete again in the Asian games
