Sloppy work!!! I've been using toothpaste for more than 55 years and NEVER HAVE I USED AS MUCH GOOP AS YOU DID. I PREFER THE PLAIN PASTE IF I CAN GET IT. Using a very small dobb on a Q-tip. (No More), and polish it in circular motion (as you did). I keep going until the paste dries into a dry paste. The drier it gets. The more abrasive it will be. Use a soft old T-shirt (not a towel) and keep buffing it until it shines. I've never had to do this on a quartz crystal. Vernon.
I'm VERY certain that You could have used more proper/Civilized methods to convey Your point, debating doesn't need to be a raised octave or a rude manner of converse, chill out a little, Brother, He didn't harm Anyone and also, it's HIS toothpaste, he bought it with his money not Yours and he can waste as much as he deems necessary. Perhaps You use too little, Yourself? Also, where's Your video as validation if Your claim for less toothpaste is actually valid? See how easily that can be turned around? Except, I'm being civil and not conveying my point in a rude or smart*** manner, but, I easily could have done as You have, it's a choice, don't add further to all the negativity out there, there's enough of that as is.
