As an owner of a Delaylab going on 7 years I can say that the only problem ever encountered was the foot switch becoming loose witch is common with stomping on the damn thing thousands of times. All you have to do is tighten it, or if it comes too loose, unscrew the back plate and reset it...not too fiddly is what I'm saying. Any lay person can do it. It's cheap and awesome as they come. Probably the best thing Vox has put out since the AC 30. Truly.
i happen to own a dl4 and have been using it for two years now and the buttons haven't broke on mine and i have not experienced any glitching on my pedal. i really enjoy the dl4 for what it does and so many cool delays you can do like the sweep echo.
+greatvanzinni You don't you the patch storage? This works very well for my band live, push of a button and all the right presets for the songs are ready to go. I've experience a few minor bugs with it, but nothing that can't be debugged in a few seconds
In all honesty there’s not a huge difference between the 2. Both are user friendly and great for live use. Especially if you don’t want to have 4 separate delay pedals
I had a DL4 before and sold it because it was getting glitchy, I've had the delaylab for the last 3 years, no problems, and everything just sounds better
+Jeremy Thompson I too have had 2 Dl-4 pedals and both broke. I have a delay lab now that is definitely much better than either of the DL-4s i owned. Not the best delay ever, but definitely better than a dl-4.

Love my Delay lab,,,, in the studio. I wouldn't use it live because I would mess something up & be lost for the night.

Yeah probably but like I said I'd figure out some way to screw it up. TC Flash Back live for me does what I want without too much worry.

Does the delaylab have the same spring and actuator buttons that the dl4 has? Does it tend to have the same problems with breaking?

I currently have delaylab switched work fine. I used to have a dl4 I sent it to jhs to get the switched replaced. TWICE!!
