I can definitely see how people are getting Breaking Benjamin vibes from this song, and as someone who enjoys both bands, it's not a bad thing at all. This song gives me goosebumps and brings tears to my eyes every time!
Yeah, this song definitely gives off early 2000s alt-rock and post-grunge vibes, and that breakdown is 100% an alt-metal/nu metal breakdown from the early 2000s.

I’ve never seen a valid reason why artist can’t have people they admire too. Chris has admitted on multiple occasions he is a Breaking Ben fan, of course he is taking influence. You sound like artist you appreciate most, naturally. I love this sound! Great song!
They're both from Pennsylvania and are pretty familiar with each other, there was some similarities back in Disguise too.

My granddad got hospitalized a few days ago. He has been fighting lungcancer for 3 years, and last week we found out it's now spread to his liver as well, and his body is exhausted and giving up..
I was partly raised by my grandparents, and I'm blessed to still have all of my grandparents alive, but this is really hitting me hard.
Especially since I've been battling depression, social anxiety and cptsd for 10 years, it made me isolate myself, and even more the last 2 years, and I haven't seen my granddad as much as I would've want to.
All I could think about was how I was messed up for not having the energy to visit my grandparents, to not be able to show them how much they mean to me while they're all I'm thinking about.
The guilt, the self hate and the sadness made me spiral into the isolation trap.
Today, what very well could be my granddad's last day, I apologized to him for not being there for him, and we locked eyes for like 10 seconds and I could see I hurt him with not being around more.. I'm feel like I'm too late.. and I just want to confess I've been so stupid, as I lost one of my best friends who couldn't fight depression any longer back in December, and I did the same exact thing to him.. I wasn't there.
After my friend passed I felt so extremely guilty, and I was determined to turn my life back around.
It took me a couple of months to grieve and process all that happened and how I was going to better myself, until last week I booked a trip (my first trip going all by myself) to get to know myself better and get my priorities straight, and when I was there my granddad got hospitalized.
Anyone reading this, please make sure to spend time with your family, they won't be around forever and life goes by pretty quickly.
I don't think a song ever meant so much to me as this song does. It hurts when I listen to it, I cry every time I hear it, but there's comfort in knowing others are out there feeling the exact same feelings. It's like I wrote the lyrics myself, it's actually making me doubt my own writing skills... Chris is so incredibly artistic..

Kimberley, I'm sorry for your pain and losses recently! It's NOT your fault. We all fall short of perfection. The simple fact that you're taking time NOW to focus on the people you love and cherish is what matters. What you did/didn't do in the past needs to stay back there because the only thing that way of thinking can do to your present in take away from it. Chris really is a lyrical genius. he's mentioned in interviews past that he often self-sabotages himself and his insecurities get in the way of his relationships ── which makes this is the final installment of a trilogy (Eternally Yours, Another Life, Masterpiece), and sort of a loveletter to his past. I've met Chris only twice but to talk to him face to face is like being seen for the first time. a quiet, down to earth and humble individual who just looks INTO you. I call it eye contact to the umpteenth degree. I've never met a band member like him before. watching this music video made me so emotional, especially as a long-term fan of MIW from the When Love Met Destruction days.
Meeting him would be amazing this song describes every letter of every lyric of my life story I could keep typing but the song does it for me

Man, i'm not a christian, like i don't really know what i'm.... i don't like labels, but i always believed in god, i always BELIEVED. And seeing one of the band that i always loved from distance (cause i'm italian and i live in italy) ,i listen to them from 2011.., knowing they are not christian nor any other specific religion making you feel special as a christian is so a masterpiece.. 🤩 My best friend name is "Cristiano" anyway ( i knew him from 20 years and i'm 26, so all my life). Aniway i feel Chrissssssss so much.. like i know him.. The way Chris and their music express emotions is so rare to me , and how the melody go inside that place.
