As a foster carer to children with special needs, we love messy play! Cornflour and the way you can punch it and I feels hard but then it flows through your fingers, you can squeeze it but it's liquid - so much to explore!
Sensory activities are so wonderful!
We love painting balloons for messy play. The kids love the squeaking of the balloons and of course the messy paint.
Sounds fun!
Great prize. My little nextdoor neighbours would love to get messy.
I love messy play with grandchildren, especially finger painting
Lovely!
We love messy play, especially in the summer month so we can do it outdoors - we put on our old clothes and do hand and feet painting which is our favourite, making lovely patterns on large sheets of wallpaper lining paper and washing ourselves off with the garden hose, fun times.
That sounds like lots of fun!
We love finger painting - with every colour imaginable!
Lovely!
@@ExpertHomeTips Thankyou.
I feel slime is the perfect messy game as it sticks everywhere and on everything
That's very true!
Toy cars to paint our way ! What a fab idea for messy play - our girls will paint forever and never get fed up

Corn starch putty is always a winner around the house as all three kids love the mess they can make, and I dont have to worry about them eating it and easy to clean.

At the moment my granddaughter is only 2 but my goodness is she a natural at messy play 🤣 her favourite this summer has been digging, making mud pies and stone/rock stacking in my garden. I can't wait to bring messy play indoors this winter, bring on the mess! 🤣🤣🤣
Our best messy play is to put different paint colours into several bowls and then stand in them and make a collage of all the families feet and write our names under our pair. We do this on an annual basis. It started when my grandson was born in 2006. It’s fantastic looking back at the difference in feet sizes of the grandchildren and when a new pair of feet are added
Wow, what an amazing idea!
I love the idea of the shaving foam in the shower for easy clean up!

Messy play making slime, kids will love this fantastic prize. Fingers crossed
Fingers crossed for you!
We love to make salt dough using half salt to flour and enough water to make a soft dough. It's two days of fun, modelling, using cookie cutters or making hand and foot prints, then once it's dry (you can put it in a low oven for 3 hours or so) we use paints, glue and glitter to decorate what we've made!
Lovely idea!
My favourite has the be the messy slime, didn't realise it was so easy to create, I'm sure my 3 year old will have hours/days of fun playing with her new slime toy.
We hope you enjoy!
I like adding spices and scents to paint. So my children can both touch and feel the paint but also explore smells. Plus my house can smell lovely by the end of the play session.
Salt dough with cinnamon added to it! Smell gorgeous and is lots of fun.
That sounds heavenly!
I love to set up activities the night before and they come down in the morning to a new sensory stimulating activity!
Our favourite is a farmyard scene using some of our plastic animals and tractors, using breakfast cereals like shredded wheat as hay bales, cocopops, cornflakes weetabix sprinkled around or crushed to make different floor textures, and hot chocolate powder and a little water to make mud for the pigs and ducks. We also use the animals to dip into different colours and see what their different footprints look like x
That's genius!

Our messy play idea involves clean but used safe rubbish. Think a recycling bag full of paper, cardboard, bottles, etc. And then the fun starts! Creating animals/objects, stacking and knocking over, sorting into same item piles, counting, etc etc. Lots to do and learn with absolutely no extra cost to you or the environment!
That's so much fun!
My daughter loves painting. She stripped down to her nappy this week at nursery and got stuck in with her whole body she loved it! Still finding paint up her nails 4 days later 😆 will be trying it at home in the summer!
How funny!

Lovely suggestion!
My favourite really messy activity is window painting, I use the really cheap squirty paint from a bargain shop , put out water and brushes and dress kids in old clothes, usually one of my husbands old work shirts and put wellies on kids .Then we go in the garden and paint the OUTSIDE of the windows , when finished I get hosepipe in garden and spray it all off , its non toxic so it can be washed away in the hot weather kids can be squirted too in winter we make window stickers from PVA mixed with paint , children can paint away then we cut shapes and the indoor warmth sticks them to windows, totally sealable too .
Lovely ideas!
We love to get different cereals out and fill a tiff tray. My son then uses his diggers to scoop, dump and trample the cereals of all different shapes! 🚜

Messy play includes making our very own slime, playdough and painting pictures. Luckily all products are easily wiped away otherwise stains will be left everywhere. Anything with glue and paints always leaves a very messy but playful behind. The kids and I enjoy playing with slime after we personally made it. From glitter to beads and powder. Every school holidays we have to have a messy play and we all enjoy it, from childrens to adults.

Coloured spaghetti and pasta! Cook in the normal way then add food colouring and because it’s so flexible and soft when cooked it’s perfect for messy play plus edible too xxx

My 2 children love the old school method kind of like the cars but a messy play tray piece of paper, marble and paint and wobble wobble and let the marble roll about, it always make it fun by asking them to make shapes (never go to plan but always get giggles and wonky shapes!😆
