Chara wasn’t the greatest person, but she wasn’t the worst person either. She was a loving sibling to Asriel and a loving child to Toriel and Asgore… She wanted to sacrifice herself to save monsters and free them…
This is fantastic. You portrayed Chara as a troubled character; one who just wanted to do what was right… But died because of it. We need more content like this.

I genuinely feel like Chara isn’t nearly as evil as most interpret them as.
But at the same time, they’re definitely not innocent. I’m not saying that they generally are evil and psychopathic, just that they were messed up by the humans.
It’s obvious that something happened with them and their hometown since they tried to commit suicide.
It’s sad because when they finally found a true home where everyone loved and cared for them they were too broken, they were already too far gone.
I know they loved Asriel and his family, but I think they were unintentionally using this “collect my soul” as an excuse to plan revenge.
On one hand I fully believe they wanted to help their adoptive family, but then you have to remember that they had an unusual distaste for humans. So I feel like some of that hatred kind of mixed in with their savior plan.
I don"t think Chara was purely evil either, it can"t be that simple for me (doesn't mean when character are "just" evil is bad but anyway). Like you said, I think they were "corrupted" by humanity at the point they wanted to die, but even thought they loved Monster revenge blinded them so yeah,, poor Asriel.
I like the headcanon that Chara follows us during our adventure and when we reach the end as a pacifist, they can see violence/revenge weren't the only ways. And also the fact that they can see Asriel and their family a last time even thought it's really painful for me to imagine that
Agree, based on what there is on the game i'd say that Chara wasn't really bad, but was broke for whatever happened to them before falling underground. I think they sacrifice to free monsters was genuine, but i also think they were hoping for Asriel and the monster to kill the humans once they had the power to do so.
I don't get why people use Chara as the reason why Frisk does a genocide route when the player is in control. If anything Chara is good because they give you as many chances to reset and save everyone.
Well, it's just an headcanon and I can understand If people prefer this one instead of Chara is good

I think so many people believed that because it was the easiest way to get rid of the guilt and don't see themself as the villan, the brain is always tring to keep a good self image by justifing any bad action's and mistakes any way it can, even subconciously. At least that's my opinion since I can't find enough real evidence to say Chara was evil.

I think I didn't really meant it that way when we see the soul restoring itself and we see Chara all the way to the Pacific route. It's more for a "poetic/sentimental" animatic than a lore accurate animatic.

I think this was great. The first comment I see is that Chara wasn't the best, but not necessarily evil..... But I have to disagree with the statement if only to reword it. Chara was evil, but she did some good things too.
Some people are evil, but they can do good things too. Just the same, some people are good, but they can do evil things too.
I stand by this statement because of my experience. I was feeling depressed one day when I was 12 and I was visibly upset because I was crying. I told my mother that I wanted to find someone to end my life for me in a relatively quick and painless fashion. She laughed at me and said, "If you want to die that badly, you have to grow the balls to pull the trigger yourself." I didn't know how to take that. I turned to my older brother, who was in the room with us, looking for....... Something..... help I guess? And he just says, "you heard mom. If you want to die, grow the balls and kill yourself." My mother has done many equally horrific things of similar nature to me, my Dad, and 8 out of 9 siblings of mine, for over 10 years. That older brother tried to make things better, but ended up just getting out of that hellhole, which I don't blame him for, and we are on good terms. I hate my mother for what she has done, not just to me but to my family, and I know that she is evil. She did some good things tho, like making happy soup (Tom Kha Gai) every now and then. I will never forget and I will never change my stance on my statement. I liked your video because it made me think of some of the good things she did, the good memories of family, and the bitter sweet feeling of being free from my mother's house and presence, never to return. Thanks, seriously, I appreciate it.
We don't necessarily have the same vision of Chara, but I totally respect that ! I understand what you mean, no one is purely evil or good, it's a fact even if sometimes it's difficult to swallow. My father's kinda an ass too and even if it's hard to remember, I know I have some good memories with him.
