I bought Dan’s latest book. I to did photoshop, and photography. I to became incredibly involved and immersed in it, it did pay quiet good dividends. However without the shadow of a doubt the steps Dan took would have been immensely productive. As artists we have this idea that we produce art for arts sake. It engages us, so surely we think it will produce monetary returns. But there is a problem… you’re not doing it for love then. Creativity in the field you love is produced from internal stimuli NOT necessarily a customers “Agenda”!

It will create more vibrancy, culture, beauty and meaning in someones life, so is their problem a lack of those things? How is this delivered tactfully and is that even the right perspective?
You're solving the same problem that a video game solves. And the video game industry is huge. It's worth billions of dollars. So is the fine art industry. And the antiquities industry. And the movie industry. So what is this problem? You could argue it's self-improvement, vanity, social status, boredom, personal development, etc. Don't take Dan's advice literally, all the time. But you can interpret it metaphorically all the time. Dan sells information products primarily, so he mainly gives advice for this specific niche. You have a physical product, which is different. But Dan's advice applies here too, in a metaphoric sense. You can give/sell a lot information about your physical product. And on top of that, sell the physical product. Write about your physical product. Then sell the physical product.

Hey Dan, I've been researching marketing for a while, and proficient in building ecom websites (for others) I'm about to start an ecom business - this is different to the norm in the sense that I will be selling sculpture, some are unique some are easily repeatable, the latter being similar process to an ecom product, however my question is for both kinds - what problem am I solving in this context?
It will create more vibrancy, culture, beauty and meaning in someones life, so is their problem a lack of those things? How is this delivered tactfully and is that even the right perspective?
You're solving the same problem that a video game solves. And the video game industry is huge. It's worth billions of dollars. So is the fine art industry. And the antiquities industry. And the movie industry.
So what is this problem? You could argue it's self-improvement, vanity, social status, boredom, personal development, etc.
Don't take Dan's advice literally, all the time. But you can interpret it metaphorically all the time. Dan sells information products primarily, so he mainly gives advice for this specific niche. You have a physical product, which is different. But Dan's advice applies here too, in a metaphoric sense. You can give/sell a lot information about your physical product. And on top of that, sell the physical product. Write about your physical product. Then sell the physical product.
