    I was terrified of wind the first few months on my MT-03 and felt blown all over the road. After awhile you get used to it and treat it as just another factor to deal with.

    Your topic is so unique to me because so many pro riders are not talking about how to tackle wind resistance while riding motorcycle. They're mostly talking on engines cc etc.

    Very good topic that isn't normally talked about. I ride a 650 naked bike, and wind is always thought of. It sucks, but take your time. Learn, practice, try, and repeat.

    I’ve been riding for just a month I got a Vulcan 500 I’m 220lbs I ride 40 miles to work and 40 back home on the highway everyday and let me tell you that the windy in socal is crazy I deal with gusts from the semis and Mother Nature are strong. I had to put a windshield on it definitely helps and I just brace for the heavier gusts

    Weather advisory mid trip on my KLR650, strong winds with gusts and to make matters worse it was that grooved/scalloped pavement. I was leaning in and throttling through but still getting blown towards the fast lane where cars and trucks unaffected by the wind were trying to set lap records on the way by!

    I ran into a 30 mph gust. The day before my boss was talking about one of his riding trips and how he had to lean a lot of the way because of the wind. While I didn’t experience the duration he did, I did have to lean a bit, but I had no issue coming back up.
    I also stayed in the middle because I noticed the wind was pushing me here and there. DanDanTheFireman also touched on riding in the wind. It’s going to be just as windy all day and the next few days.

    I was nearly blown into oncoming traffic in a surprise Arizona microburst. There was no place to pull over and the lightning was striking close. Even using techniques like this, my front tire was very close to breaking free. I had to shift my weight way up to the tank ... it was really unnerving.

    Hi! I can ride in wind but there is one type of wind that i cant figure out. It kinda feels like someone is pulling the carpet from underneath the tires. I can even be riding 20 mph. Wobbly or riding on ice and its not cold out or rain. Could it be my rims on my bike?

      I would also like to know about this. I am new and my gosh it was scary feeling. I am 240lbs on a 450lbs bike going 45mph and i felt my tires wobbling.

    I was riding I-10 in CA in some mighty heavy wind. After an hour I was beat. It was blowing sideways to the freeway at least 30mph. I was literally leaned over into it. The hard part was when it led off and I’d swing into the shoulder.

    I usually don’t ride when it’s too windy. Like today there’s 40mph wind gusts and to me it just makes riding very unenjoyable. Not that I can’t deal with it, but I’d rather not lol

    Nobody told me that if I just move my hand at 80mph, the bike starts moving to the side. Even on R7. Add wind to that and you become scared. 😨

    • @wraith2k82
      @wraith2k82 5 місяців тому

      I found that out also. The bike responds to any movement you make. 9 months later, you probably already know this and more. lol.

    I try to avoid to ride with heavy winds. But when I have to, I turn my knee to the side where the wind is coming from. Foot still on the footpeg, and let the knee move with the wind. To me, it seems effective to keep control. But a heavier bike is of course even better.
