Greetings from danmark 😊 I went to the US in 91 to live with my American boyfriend at the time. There was no www and we could only watch the local news, so I vividly remember how isolated from the rest of the world I began to feel. It was like the US WAS the world, and I sadly understood why so many Americans were really ignorant back then. Not stupid, but ignorant about the world outside the states. It was quite frustrating, especially because they simultaneously thought that they were better than anyone else in the world 😮💨 That said, I love visiting the US and there’s a lot I like about Americans, it’s not all bad 😅 The gun violence though 😢 It’s sad that the politicians don’t do something to put an end to that. All those lobbyists with their own interests, funding political campaigns etc. shouldn’t be allowed. Politicians should work for the interests of the people, not big corporations, organizations or businesses. I can’t even imagine having to have locked doors, armed guards and metal detectors at elementary schools 🤯 Not to mention small children having to regularly go through school shooting emergency drills 😔 It really does seem out of control, and though it’s true that we from the outside might have an overly negative view of what is going on, I hear stories that show that it really does affect people heavily. I read a comment somewhere, from an American who visited Danmark recently. The person had been on some tour in the city center of Copenhagen. At one point some fireworks went off, and before even thinking he dove down behind some seats, believing there was a shooting. He described feeling rather self conscious as everyone was staring at him strangely 😂
That is the thing.. All bad things we see in the news are not just politics, are things that effect people's lifes every day.... But how it is, as long as it's not me?
I got news for you. The US is now a fundamentally broken country. In fact, by definition, the US is now a fascist country as it has been fully taken over by corporate interests. Money in politics destroyed America. This is why we now have to be extra careful in Denmark to not let money control our politics.
1:08 "Damn, they go hard"... -Meanwhile I am thinking they must be soft drinkers since they left over all that booze. My bottles are all empty soon after I get them! LOL
We enjoy good quality alcohol, by 'tasting' the stuff!! ..not by 'throwing it down the drain', like cheap crap! That means, we can have a lot of bottles on the shelves - one for every mood! ..without being drunk 24/7 !!
I agree with the majority of the sentiment here (🇬🇧). I think the US is so dominant & visual … sometimes inadvertently… that it becomes a media target for other countries (such as in Europe) to highlight the negative elements that exist. The other positive stuff probably isn’t newsworthy, unfortunately, but hey that’s how it is!
In Denmark its is in the news whenever the police had to discarge bullits to solve a situation. And even if they only wonded the person, there will be an investigation wether it was okay or not.
Yes , but free for everyone in the country. We all pay taxes, and gets free healthcare, school, roads, care in the home if old, disabled, or ill. Support to pay the rent if you have a low payed job. We all get pension from the state after leaving work when we get our 67 year birthday. No need to work during university we gets a monthly payment also. AND a lot more during payments to the taxes.
All media in every country in the world needs to learn that negative and dramatic 'breaking news' stories do not automaticly mean more viewers. Many peolpe have actually stopped watching news because of it.👎. The positie stoies do happened and now that's what people want to see.
When ppl say there was nothing it is erasing history. There were huge anti war protests when the USA was going to iraq so early 2000s. There were huge anti wto protests in the late 90s. Queer folk protested in the 90s. A lot. So the fact that some ppl were not engaged doesn't mean none of us were passive.
In USA every one is free but you have to rely on good people and positivity to balance the bad stuff where in europe its the opposite you can be the worst person but laws prevent you to impact other in a bad way by of course reducing you liberties . i dont like the US style because when someone is bad or greedy there is no rails to prevent him to do bad legal stuff .
“Travelin’ Young” is the title because this is the YOUNG family … that decided to travel from the U.S. 🇺🇸 to Denmark 🇩🇰 5 years ago (then) … 😉 Hope, dear Giobozz, you will not have to become too old for travelling abroad, before you have the money to do so to your liking 🤞🏻 🍀
To be fair, i dont think its my family and friends that makes me appreciate my country. Ofcourse the PEOPLE are good. That goes for ANY country you travel to. The people will be awesome if you get to know them.

My perception of the USA after living in Denmark for 5 years hasn't changed. I'd rather be living in Denmark than in the States ...and I moved out of Denmark to come to Malta.
I have to back down from politics half the time to establish a positive attitude, especially when I only get the cheeto dictator in my news feed from America. I couldn't imagine how much more it would be in the news in the States. It's sad to be a witness of America moving backwards.
I have been in the USA and away from my country of origin since 1995 and I have not lost contact with closest friends and don't feel that disconnected. It is a choice especially today to stay connected or not.
Dude! Keep your mouth shut, if you don't really have anything to react to! I get it! You live in Finland! now.., good for your😁! Sure! React if you really have something to react to! But your constant interruptions are just annoying 😐!!

Do not engage in a drinking game where you take a shot whenever the daughter says "like", it will not end good for you... 🤪
I think like that she’s like saying like way too often … I don’t really like it … 🙃😉

Education is free too in Denmark
Tax-funded.

Not free. The people there are just so ignorant that they don’t understand simple math.
@@ellensrensen4333things you pay for aren’t free. You’re ignorant and uneducated.
Stop begging the US for protection. We want to see Vlad win.

Lobbying is discusting. Its just another word for bribing. So don't say there is no corroption .
Just pulling your weapon as a officer triggers a investigation, and bullets fired are instant national news with a lot of criticism and scrutiny

Hi from Denmark,
I have to back down from politics half the time to establish a positive attitude, especially when I only get the cheeto dictator in my news feed from America. I couldn't imagine how much more it would be in the news in the States.
