    Hi Dr asaad when u mentioned having to support yourself n renting costs varying btwn areas can you plz mention states that are more affordable n ones that are expensive, if u know 🙏

      The cost varies not only from a state to a state but also from a city to another inside the same state. I recommend looking at the average cost of living in the cities you are considering online.

      That’s a tricky one. We’ve connected students to remote clinical mentorship before and it didn’t turn out well. We are trying out a new research mentor/preceptor currently and hoping for better results!

      We recently spoke to a research coordinator at Mayo who suggested going to the Mayo Clinic research department, find the Directory, and reach out to the Researcher in a specialty you are interested in. HOWEVER, they want to make sure the learner plans to match to that specialty before they will consider any candidates. They won’t accept just anyone.

    Dr is the research always have to be done in the USA I order to be able to match later on into USA or can it be done in an American based program branch in another country such as Mayo Clinic Dubai in uae ? Same question goes with electives ?

    Whats the difference between Research assisstant and Research fellow.
    Which one is better for a MD with prior research experience looking to match in residency programs of US?
    Can we just start with research assisstant and after a year change it to a Research fellow position while we are in US?

      Names don't matter too much. What matters is job responsibilities and whether you will be added on papers.

      You can take 2-4 weeks off and do remote online research in your time off on your rotation

    in the first part (requirements) he mentions and says "just check with the institution or physician your applying to"
