I wonder if you could do a piece about section 60a which the police have used following recent disturbances to suspend reasonable grounds for the purpose of a search and to prevent face coverings? Thanks 🙏
I'd be grateful for that too. Also, have all these people who have been fast tracked to jail been allowed legal advice? It's been so quick - could they have opted for a trial? Also, would mitigating circumstances be allowed because some of those charged are only children? Sorry to sound thick but this seems so different to our usual justice system.
@cuchulainn3474 you’re a moron. BBB is helping people to understand and navigate the law so they are better informed and prepared to protect themselves from ignorance of the same. Freeman of the land is a nice concept, but that’s all it is, and it will be crushed mercilessly by the state, if you want to enjoy the privileges of the state. Do you drive a car,’ for example? If you do, then you should get insurance responsibly in case you run over a poor innocent pedestrian and change the course of that victims life forever. It’s no good not paying for tax, or insurance, or ensuring your vehicle is maintained to a safe standard if you intend to drive. It’s just plain selfish and plain ignorant. You think that you can defeat the state by non compliance? Grow up. Why not be part of the solution and work towards changing the law or shining a light on where the state needs to do better and being part of the solution.
The problem is, in the Uk and the US, when you are arrested, strip-searched, and thrown in a jail cell for one or two days, that is intimidation. Whether you are sentenced or not, it is meant to be intimidation.
here there are limitations on that, they can be deadly to both parties. The Bundy situation is prime example. citizens won at first, then the government assassinated one of them AS HE DROVE TO TURN HIMSELF IN. His family is currently suing everyone involved and before its over VERY important people in US government will be harmed greatly by the reaction to their unconstitutional, illegal actions.
I think protests were allowed to get out of hand here in the US but can you imagine the machete scenario with American cops? 😂 There's several body cam videos on UA-cam about just that.

SO EVERY COUNTRY IS GETTING EXACTLY WHAT THEY DESERVE THEN.
Given the *MASSIVE* differential we are witnessing between the way these predominantly 'indigenous' white protesters / rioters are being sentenced relative to what we have witnessed when 'several other communities' indulge in broadly comparable behaviour ..... *I suspect some will find it very difficult to believe this does not amount to racial discrimination*

After the Brexit referendum was announced I had two former school friends who knew that I do not speak any language other than English come up and ask when I was leaving the UK. These two people knew my parents and never had any issues with them. I used my rights of freedom speech to call them "knuckle dragging merchant bankers".
@@ThatGuyNicho do you think the first Americans had "The Right" to fight back and declare independence? No we had to fight a war and pay in lives for our freedom...
As an American, it is impossible for me to express my appreciation for the brilliance of our founding fathers, who realized and put into written law our broad freedom of speech protections. It is our greatest freedom. I feel for our British cousins, whose freedom of speech in practice is quite limited. It is tragic that you do not have a written constitution per se. In my opinion this must be remedied ASAP.
Those freemason founders (liberals, traitors and terrorists) you celebrate brought about the end of Christendom in favour of a degenerate secular west. The west isn't worth saving, due to the poisonous ideology they perpetuated.
Your forefathers were really thinking. It’s because USA had to physically fight for freedom from tyranny. My country Canada and others just sort of drifted away from monarchy so our forefathers didn’t give us an iron clad constitution. They didn’t recognize a future threat. I’m glad USA is our nbr.
Looking in from Africa, I must admit I see from the sidelines a troubling situation unfolding in America-an ongoing assault on the freedoms that have long defined the nation. As the world's last standing true Republic, America’s system of "government by the people, for the people," rooted in democratic principles under God, is something truly remarkable. However, it seems that many Americans today do not fully appreciate how their system was designed or understand the crucial role it plays in safeguarding liberty. What I observe is an infiltration of America’s free market system by external, non-American interests, which allows manipulation and attacks on the very foundations upon which the country was built-principles like individualism, self-determination, and personal liberty. The media, too, plays a significant role in shaping narratives and controlling thought, which in turn undermines critical thinking. Instead of promoting the pursuit of independent ideas and encouraging the entrepreneurial spirit that once drove America’s success, there seems to be a growing trend of conformity and a lack of pride in the nation’s founding ideals. America was established on the belief that private citizens, through their own efforts and imagination, could realize their dreams while serving their fellow man. Yet, what I see today is a growing disconnect from this vision. There is less emphasis on self-reliance, less pride in personal responsibility, and an increasing reliance on external forces that seek to shape public opinion and policy. As someone observing from a distance, I believe America must reconnect with the values that made it a beacon of freedom and opportunity. It needs to return to empowering individuals to determine their own paths and contribute to society without undue interference or manipulation from powerful interests. A revival of critical thinking, a renewed focus on self-determination, and a recommitment to America’s founding principles are essential to protect what makes the nation truly exceptional. This issue comes into sharper focus when we look at the current situation with Elon Musk-a man who left Africa to gain freedom in America and manifest his dreams, only to now be called to account by what was once a colonial power in Africa. The same power that once subjugated Musk’s forefathers as they ravaged through African Kingdoms, nine Afrikaner republics not even two generations ago murdering and plundering, using scorched earth policies and becoming the first to use concentration camps on civilian populations now seeks to extend there self propergated control once again beyond its borders. (the EU is a similar imperial tool, unelected self proclaimed territorial government) Their attempt to extradite Elon Musk isn’t just an attack on him; it is an attack on the freedom of all independent thinkers around the world. Their modus operandi is clear: "If we can do this to Elon Musk, we can do it to anyone who steps out of line." The narrative they push, wrapped in fearmongering and the guise of protection, is nothing more than an attempt to control and subjugate. Americans should understand that this is not merely about Musk-it’s about all of us who value freedom and the right to think and act independently. If this attack succeeds, it signals a dangerous precedent for the future of free thought and liberty across the globe. American's should take the time to research who exactly owns their legacy media outlets, for if they did it would become immediately clear to them, that their greatest vulnerability is the lack of critical thinking. The understanding that there is a difference in what one is told to believe and what one decides to believe.

That is what they wanted. Years ago I openly criticized a local government official. She went to court to sue "people who had been abusive towards her online". The media then blocked every single comment that was critical towards her in even the slightest way. That is what the UK government is doing. They know they have no legal leg to stand on, but they are making people and media doubt and therefore censor opinions just in case. This is how mass censorship works today.

No he did not, the Sky reporter posed a question to Mark Rowley and had his arm stretched out while holding his microphone for a response and Rowley pushed it away in order to get passed, seeing as he was already walking in that direction anyway and the outstretched arm was in his way. As an American I'm grateful you were able to present what Free Speech actually means in the US. We are horrified when we hear what is happening in the UK and now you understand why. The British don't understand a lot of our Constitution including the 2nd Amendment right to bear arms or what invoking the 5th Amendment means. It means we had forward thinking founding fathers who had a beef with the British government. It's my opinion, the 2nd Amendment came out in part, due to the Disarming Act imposed in Scotland after the '45 rising. Many founders had Scottish or Scots Irish ancestry and long memories. btw, the 5th Amendment guards against self incrimination. That's what invoking the 5th means. It makes me very happy when others understand why we think the way we do.
We also have the right to remain silent when arrested so as not to incriminate ourselves. We're read the British version of Miranda (though I've never been arrested. Seen enough cop shows). And for the record, or last mass shooting in a school was 32 years ago. Why the hell would we need an AK15?

Truth isn't a defense against slander and libel. And that's not quite right either. It's truth isn't an *absolute* defense the way it is in America. You can still use truth as part of a defense, but you need more to be found not liable. Canada has freedom expression in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and although the charter is worded in a way that those rights and freedoms aren't as absolute as those in the American Bill of Rights, they are still far more protected then in the UK. For example most of Canadas hate speech laws were struck down by the Supreme Court a couple decades ago. The only one remaining prohibits advocation of genocide.

@@leekelly9639 You really don't even have that. In the United States, the written constitution is supreme, and although activist supreme court justices have at times twisted its words out of their right meaning, the fact that they have had to twist the words to get the results they wanted (and their efforts are always subject to potentially being overturned by future SCOTUS rulings) indicates that the written constitution is the final word. It makes for a barrier that's hard to get around, since you have to formally amend the constitution to do it, and that's intentionally made difficult to do. Not so in the U.K. Parliamentary supremacy is what trumps everything there. An act of Parliament that is clearly expressed cannot be questioned on constitutional grounds by any British court (at least before Tony Blair's reforms introduced a supreme court -- and some have accused him of thereby creating a constitutional crisis). In short: if Parliament passes it, it's law. Period. As Joseph E. Olson and David B. Kopel put it: "The British system does not mean legislative supremacy, but rather executive supremacy, since the leader of the dominant party in Parliament faces no effective opposition or check. There is, 300 years after the Glorious Revolution, an unexpected new "monarch"-- the Prime Minister. As a practical matter, the Parliament today acts as less of a check on the supreme executive's power than Parliament did in 1613, when King James I asserted the divine right of kings. The modern "servile but supreme parliament" is no longer a restraint on executive power, but instead an instrument of that power." Again, in short, Parliament could, if a majority of MP's were agreeable, vote to nullify every word of Magna Carta, and there is no legal impediment whatever to stop them. The only thing standing in the way would be tradition, public opinion, and precedent, and these are all things that seem to matter less and less every year to the people running the British government today.

Ironic that you use the term liberty. You should understand the proper definition of this word before attributing it as being correlated to such 'rights'
You must be unfamiliar with American history. “Give me liberty or give me death” was said by Patrick Henry in 1775 in the Virginia Assembly. It became the war cry of the American revolution, which you could possibly be familiar.

Canada has freedom expression in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and although the charter is worded in a way that those rights and freedoms aren't as absolute as those in the American Bill of Rights, they are still far more protected then in the UK.

@@johnward2488 it's alarming you don't honor free speech, which is consider3d a basic human liberty. You scum
The modern "servile but supreme parliament" is no longer a restraint on executive power, but instead an instrument of that power."
Again, in short, Parliament could, if a majority of MP's were agreeable, vote to nullify every word of Magna Carta, and there is no legal impediment whatever to stop them. The only thing standing in the way would be tradition, public opinion, and precedent, and these are all things that seem to matter less and less every year to the people running the British government today.

I do not agree that my government has the legal right to label me as being 'far right' because I dissagree with their obvious religious bias. What are my avenues for redress or is my only option to apply for sanctuary in the US?
Fascinating?! It’s devastating. How primitive and pathetic is our country that we are even in this position. I’m starting to understand some of the sentiments that led to the start of America.
It has a slightly better democracy than Britain

Being the son of a lawyer and knowing hundreds of lawyers. I can honestly say that if all lawyers/barristers were as humble and willing to admit what they did not know and were able to take it in as well as you did, the profession would be respected far more then it currently is. Far more in line with how it should be viewed.
Have attorney's threaten suit to our bank for not relaying balances on accts all the time. Those people are dead...... They work in other fields and try to help family/friends but just end up causing a mess. Simply because they make demands instead of actually listening to what's needed. "im not sending a death cert we will sue you, pff whos your general counsel".
A funny old idea, that the law should protect the people rather than just wash over them? Justice should be impartial for sure but common sense should rule? The 'letter of the law' and what it represents are too often appropriated for the worst reasons and I do not for one second applaud a man who imposes his own sense of retribution (that would be illegal), need a place to stay? sound and we'll figure it out, that prick will end up in a bog, allegedly because I am such a model citizen, don't even break the speed limits much, the nicest guy that you absolutely do not want to piss off. What a dumb statement
This is why every Western Nation should have the 1st and 2nd Amendment, to protest against tyranical gov't.
Yet America has it, and all that happens nowadays is mass shootings at schools and shopping centres plus getting shot by police during a traffic stop. It doesn't happen against governments.
Amendment to what exactly? First You need to have a constitution, then You can make amendments to it...
The UK is ONE of THREE countries in the world without written constitution...
(New Zealand, Izrael are the other two).
Instead though, every western government has let in hoards of young fit men; they aren't 'refugees', fleeing for their lives. In the UK, like today, 2 people have been drowned form dodgy boats in the English Channel. These poor people were probably being smuggled in having paid a lot of money to criminal gangs, they are families with women & children. However those men coming over appear to be in quite decent boats, wearing bright orange matching life jackets, yet our Navy, Coastguard, Border force, RNLI, or the French Navy etc cannot seem to spot them using RADAR, drones, binoculars or even the naked eye??? They must be really CRAP, or they are being brought in? Every western country, US, Canada, Aus, France, Spain, Italy, but it is the UK that is boiling over. Possible UN army here to enforce restrictions leading to Agenda 2030 is my bet ...
Lets see how well those amendments stand if Tronald Dump gets back in to power

I find it alarming that an American may be charged with a crime in England for statements made in the US. Can you imagine an English woman being charged in Saudi Arabia for posting bikini pictures on Face Book? This is laughable...
What next, China?
The English can charge an American with a crime that was not committed on UK soil, but what can they realistically do about it? They would have to seek extradition with the US authorities. It's highly unlikely that US authorities would extradite a US citizen to another country for an offense which is not a crime in the US.
Lol, America does it all the time.

@@tizerrazor1956 the problem with so called “hate speech” is who decides what’s hate? No one should be punished for thoughts, only actions, unless those thoughts are going to imminently cause violent actions.
The old saying…sticks and stones can break my bones but names will never harm me.
Benjamin Franklin was a ferocious advocate for free speech. He opined that not only was it a right but an absolute responsibility of the nation's citizen to criticize its elected government. Not so much so in the UK.
That's the saddest part of all. This concept is one of the cornerstones of European civilisation, invented by the Greeks almost 2,800 years ago.
How is trying to burn down a mosque, hotel filled with people, police cars and looting shops "criticising the elected government"?
Moreover, nearly 100% of the problem they are complaining about are the result of the PREVIOUS government, since they were laws and programs that they enacted and the current government has not had time to address.
Why weren't they rioting under the government that did this to them?
(The answer is this has nothing to do with criticising the government, and everything to do with violently attacking people they don't like)

Happy to hear Americas Rights are being protected! Sad to hear the UK is limited.
American rights are well-protected, but Americans often disregard the rights of British citizens and those outside the United States. For the U.S., laws and rights seem to matter only within their own borders, allowing them to act as they please internationally. This gives the impression that Americans ignore the rights of others when it suits their interests.

And purposely followed by the second. The military and people in government don't swear fealty to any one person or office at the commencement of such duty, they take an oath to protect and uphold The U.S. Constitution.
