I'm guessing a lot of you didn't follow the development of the game. I'll clear some things up for you, then.
-Some Summons are acquired through cinematic means, an unspoiled example being Leviathan, who's literally destroying the city before you manage to subdue it
-Summons are as they were before, appearing and one-shotting the area
-The method in which a Summon appears and attacks CHANGES FROM AREA TO AREA
-Summons actually have plot-related utility, which is rare in an FF game
Because this ff is different than other ff, the main character is not the usual ff protagonist

So is this the only time we see Ifrit and Bahamut? Are they actually summons we can use or just cutscenes?
So far, it's impossible to summon Bahamut or Ifrit, we can only summon Bahamut vs Ifrit fight, but I heard rumours that in future DLC Ifrit and Bahamut will be available, and maybe even more summons.
I heard that you could find them in new game plus but that could be false.
There is no new game+ yet, they will need to add it in future update.
I've heard from other people with the game here from youtube, the other people that has it and has streamed, that you cans summon Bahamut and ifrit in post-game, the summons are just random so maybe Zanar hasn't had that happen yet.
The game is a disappointment. I'm calling it already. I will buy this shit when the price drops.

If you played the game , Shiva isn't seducing Noctis, she cared for him like a mother/nanny would to a child. She even occassionally cooks for the squad as Gentiana in Comrades.
For those wondering about "why so few summons?"
First off, you'll rarely if ever see any of these in a single playthrough. I have NEVER seen Titan, or Shiva or Leviathan, outside of their roles in the story, I have summoned Rumah twice ever and that's it (and I by no means rushed through the game). They appear so rarely, and when they do appear their damage is almost incomparable to previous FF's. They basically cause an apocalypse that most of the game enemies haven't a hope of surviving.
Second off, Carbunkle is also a summon (Nowhere near as epic as these, and often forgotten). You unlock him by completing the demo of FFXV.
Third, The Summons in FFXV work differently then they've ever done in a FF game. They are a mixture of, situational, geographical and story based triggers that dictate the Astral you get, and how they attack.
Titan and Rumah, for certain, have multiple "styles" of attacks depending on where you are. i.e., Titan might hurl a boulder the size of a town toward your location if you're in a narrow location, or, he might rush up and punch the ground if you're in a massivly open space.
Rumah might need to literally pierce his staff through a mountain to reach your location inside a dungeon deep underground (entirely different to the sequence shown here)
Leviathan, is only available if you're battling near large bodies of water, so is a rarer "summon result" then Titan or Rumah.
Shiva only appears when your situation is insanely dire, but her attack is insta-kill, and unlike most of the other astrals, is small enough to fit indoors.
So to be fair to the designers, a true "All Summons" video ought to show the several different attack sequences demonstrated by the Astrals depending on where Noctis is and include all the story based summons (not just the ones during the battle with Ifrit).
Question to all, was Gentiana's Shiva reveal awesome or felt very rushed. I feel kinda half and half because having them be two different beings would've been much more accepting, yet having that reveal was badass as well. any thoughts?

I thought it was perfect and made sense. I was kinda confused how they just casually said Gentiana was immortal and left it at that but her being Shiva fits well. I actually thought Ardyn would end up being Ifrit by the end and still wish that was the case, unfortunately we end up with what I thought was a fun Ifrit fight and a semi-staged Ardyn fight with him being happy he died for the most part. Ardyn reminded me of Caius at one point but by the end I think Caius is still a better villain.
Well, Ardyn might be happy because he finally has an end. We don't know how Old Ardyn is, and remember Adyn was the one who originally stopped that "curse" with those Siecher ( or however they are called) absorbing every infected one, saving so many lives. But of course, he was then rejected, by the light and by the very people he saved, and after all those years being an outcast and having no end in his life he turned evil, and perhaps the corruption lastly made him evil.
It felt kind of rushed, but not enough to kill it for me. I've never really played a FF game before this, so I have no experience to how these things should go if that tells you anything, but yeah, it was fine.
Actually guys, these are not summons, they are GODS, so Noctis CAN'T summon them, they come when Noctis need help, like Titan in Altissya... Did you play the game or what? 🙅

TheOriginalSolicious He means they can't be summoned at will. They are gods, so they choose when to be summoned and that's why it's so random
They are not weapons in your arsenal like in other games. Each summon has requirements that need to be met before they can be brought to the field and only then it's like once per battle.

yes. there are only 4 "usable" summons. "Usable" because you can't really call them on command. You need to be in "danger" mode (low health) and even then, you're only prompted to summon them sometimes.

The summons in FFXV have contextual and environmental requirements that have to be met to summon them. Ifrit is the only aeon you don't acquire, Bahamut only gets summoned once and the other four are summoned when the right requirements are met. Leviathan isn't gonna pop out of the ground and Titan isn't gonna show up in cramped spaces so of course they're not gonna show up as often. The scale of each summon is also fucking massive as they should be, yet people still manage to fucking complain about SOMETHING

Could Noctis using the spirits of the old kings in the afterlife to purge Ardyn's soul be the FFXV equivalent to the Knights of the Round summon from FFVII? It kind of seems that way to me, but that's just my personal opinion.
It's supposed to feel that way but not at the same time. If you look at your key items you gained something from them when you continue the game after beating it. I have yet to see them show up but i hope they are another summon now.
People can complain, but I prefer the summons in FF XV than any summon in FF XIII.

I think it looks more like a Gilgamesh than Bahamut.
They make all other summons close to the final fantasy crystal series sprites except Bahamut. And that's a weird looking humanoid dragon. Maybe Bahamut could mega evolve into its original form..? :S

From what I know, no, at least not yet, some people claimed Ifrit and Bahamut can be summoned any time in New Game+ / DLC. It's too soon to tell.

Quantum Witcher if this is the best experience for you, it's a little sad. Everyone has their own opinion. If you think it's a great game, good for you, but your opinion it's not the most valid. I've enjoyed the game, but it's not the best FF. The grafics never impress me, the story does, and in this case, it's very confussing and very bad told. They pushed back the game, so I really expected something better. I liked it, but next time I preffer bad graffics and better story.

The summons are weak as hell. Just fancy graphic. The shivas should've have snapped their fingers in a circle around the enemy. That would've been trill. And I hope that's not all of them. his signature attack is suppose to be "Megaflare" not "Ultima Weapon". Ultima weapon? Really??? That's the designation normally used to the most powerful WEAPON(S) on the game!

i mean.... every game is different and this one was more story driven with the summons as opposed to just being a weapon in your arsenal. I loved every second of it and the entire Ifrit and Leviathin fight was beyond amazingly well done imo.

Aww, i can't believe they screwed up Bahamut. And they ruined Ifrit, one of my favorite and sexyest summons. I expected him to be more muscular... and a furry. But what i got is a slim, cosplayer, parkour, Magi/Fairy Tail trash of a summon. :( i liked 8 and 10's better. 7 came in close 3rd. And no Diablo? Balshit!

Bahamut kinda reminds me of the class Dragoon... where they not descendent of dragon or something like that? I cant remember. So it kinda works for me that he is a humanoid dragon, maybe he is not even in his true form yet? I hope its not his true form, that he will turn in to a dragon and use his classic Mega flare move that destroying everything.

You're missing some. Ramuh has a 2nd animation for when you're indoors/underground/etc. Wouldn't be surprised if others do too. Titan has a different animation where he picks up Noctis and punches the ground.I got this when I was raiding a base. You didn't show the normal Bahamut summon. I also think that you may be able to summon Ifrit somehow. Maybe getting more of the shards he drops to get the actual item but I don't know.
Is it me or when Noctis is battling Ardyn and he summons the past kings of lucis doesn't it look like a version of
knights of the round

I like to think that this Bahamut is actually what became of the Noctis we once knew in Final Fantasy versus XIII, Like look at the way the swords surround him and how they even have that sort of blueish energy we saw in the very first trailer, without mentioning the fact that he has human eyes ._.
