while i do not dispute your teaching experience which was never the issue i was trying to raise, the cxc guidelines clearly state that the calculators must not be able to do differentiation or integration which they clearly can do. i was just curious as to their validity for the purpose of the exams as my son is sitting csec in a few days.
It’s ok... I’m just saying I get these comments every single year... Wait til you see the Casio calculator which has even more functionality than the sharp. Also read the rules and you will see there is a qualifier on the calculus operations. Something like variable integration etc. It’s not breaking the rules.
Kerwin Springer ..yk after you press mode..and normal and stat comes up?.. Well..when I pressing the arrows to get the correct mode..it ain't doing nun..it just stationary on that
ahuramazda323 these calculators have been allowed for over a decade and will continue to be allowed. They are non programmable and scientific. You can use them to crunch numbers in definite integrals or solve for x of a differential... they can’t differentiate and integrate variable expressions.
@@KerwinSpringer these videos showing using this type of calculator is misleading. cxc does not allow the use of calculators that can do differentiation, integration or factorization. do you know this? this is clearly stated in cxc guidelines for csec exams.
ahuramazda323 I have been teaching CXC and CAPE students for quite some time. I have used and seen a lot of calculators that students use. 1. Nearly 100% of calculators they use can do some of these features and some are not even aware. 2. The rule is for non programmable calculators. This is non programmable. 3. Every year someone in my chat says they’re not allowed. Only to show me their calculator and I show them how to do it on their own calculator. 4. Every year students use these calculators top private tutors have been showing students how to get the most of their calculators for quite some time. I’m just putting it free on UA-cam. You can feel free to ignore it and let others use it.
