  • After a partial or full hysterectomy without oophorectomy (which means the ovaries were not taken), there are certain hormones that we will want to track in order to see how they will change over time. In some women, there are no hormone complications, but unfortunately many women suffer from premature ovarian failure because of the removal of the uterus. In these women, it means early menopause.

    I am 58. My uterus is prolapsed. I may be getting a hysterectomy and salpingo-oopherecty, with Prolapse surgery. Is there an advantage of leaving the ovaries in at this point?
