Love your reviews and videos. I own this 28 and I'm waiting on preorders for the 50mm 2.2. Voigtlander has been doing a great job in the past several years.
Perfect combo = 21mm skopar f3.5 + 28mm skopar + 50mm f2.2 skopar and Zeiss 35mm f1.4 + 75mm APO. You cover the perfect travel and street set, plus the best image quality when you need it :)
Got one for my Leica CL film camera. Also got the 28mm view finder since I don’t have frame lines for that one. Excited! Been shooting 40mm too much and ready to get wide!
I had a 28 Elmarit loaner recently and loved it but couldn’t bring myself to spend around $1,800 (give or take) for a used copy. Been considering the 28 color skopar and this excellent review I think will seal the deal for me. My only consideration was whether I go for the 2.0 ultron given it isn’t much more expensive or much bigger. But I see this as primarily a street lens and would rarely need more than the 2.8. So I think smallest possible form factor is what I prefer.
@@taneltinnuri8985 I don’t think one is smoother than the other tbh. But I feel Leica is a bit more well built. The Voigtlander feels too light (can be good or bad depending on what you looking for)
Voigtlander must have found some magic in their 28mm lenses. They can make lenses of similar quality to Leica in a considerably smaller package. Amazing! Looking forward to your VM50/2.2 review. It's such a small lens. Although I already have the rigid and 50/1.4 Asph and probably won't consider the Voigtlander, I am still curious if it can do any magic again. I really hope Voigtlander can update its 15/4.5. It may be the last lens I need.
@@Sergey_Pashnin I got mine today and a first test is good. The images are sharp and contrasty on my S9 and with the LLL adapter I can focus to infinity :-)

Hey man, wow nice review, are you American born Chinese or where you come from? By the way, my name is Johnny and I'm a freelance logo designer, are you interested to have a logo for your channel to have a memorable branding to increase your audience loyalty and views? I would love to have the honor to design a photography themed monogram logo inspired by your personality! Let me know if you interested to make it happen! I'm currently looking for more works to make use of my interests to help me get back on track in life quicker, if you can provide me some work, it will be really nice! :-)
Literally just came on to look up this lens and you dropped this and hour ago. Your reviews are great 👍

thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed the video. This 28 and the 50 color skopar might be a killer travel combo!
@@JimmyCheng Was thinking the same thing!
Done. Ordered. Thank you, Jimmy. I was on the fence between the Elmarit and the Color Skopar. You've helped me to make the choice.
glad to hear that! that's why I make these videos!

You forgot to mention (unless I missed it) a huge plus: for the Voigtlander which it has a MFD of 0.5m vs 0.7M than the Leica Elmarit.

Hey Jimmy, how does this compare to the Voigtlander 28mm f2 Ultron ii ASPH optically?
Not to mention, the type 1 (vintage design) is a bit hefty if that's what people are looking for!
Could you please confirm that the Elmarit you used is the latest one (11677) ?

Does Elmarit have little smoother rendering than skopar? Elmarit asph I nice copy can find +50% price and im thinkng if its worth

Went for the summaron but lovely option
why did you get the silver one on the black body?
@@Leander-tt9kg silver lenses actually pairs really well with black m11, because of that silver ring and button around the mount on the m body.

yeah it’s been amazing lately for Voigtlander
If adapted to Panasonic S9, how much will angular sharpness suffer?
I ordered one today for my S9 and will pair it with the LLL Adapter M-L for optimal compatibility. If there’s interest, I might make a review.

You should try shoot on negative films as vignetting tent to manifest into dull shadows.
Interesting, I’ll give it a go
