CONSTÂNCIA, Santarém, Portugal

Situada junto à confluência do rio Zêzere com o rio Tejo, Constância é uma vila e sede de concelho do Distrito de Santarém.
Os municípios de Abrantes, Vila Nova da Barquinha e Chamusca, são o limite geográfico do Município de Constância.
D. Maria II em 1836 alterou o nome desta localidade, que anteriormente se designava de Punhete, para o actual nome de Constância.
Durante o desterro no Ribatejo, foi neste local a residência do poeta Luís de Camões, que aqui escreveu alguns dos seus poemas líricos.

Located near the confluence of the river Zêzere with the
river Tagus, Constância is a town and county seat of the District of Santarém.
