Lecture liver regeneration proliferation hypertrophy and metabolism

The metabolic functions of our liver are spatially and temporally separated. But while this “zonation” is well researched in the healthy adult liver, the distribution of the metabolically active and the proliferating hepatocytes during liver regeneration after tissue loss remains poorly understood. With our research we aim to obtain insights into the division of tasks within the regenerating liver.
