I'm 47...I've been coaching since I helped my dad's youth teams when I was 18/19 yrs old. The main thing I learned yrs later and changed was I learned how to talk to kids...on a level they were responding to. After that things changed for me and I was able to do more. But we don't have enough time (practice times are 1.5 hrs..twice a week) kids playing multiple sports, have other siblings and things going on , maybe parents are divorced, etc....and RARELY have all 10 at both practices in a week.

I think maybe swimming track and whatnot are good “bridge sports” the correlation would be the core muscle development. Though swimming is a water sport it still is one heck of a great workout for your muscles as a whole along with your endurance and respiratory strengthening. Track is great for keeping in shape in off seasons. Also great for endurance! Lacrosse is more like soccer/hockey lol not football…great show coach! Watch everyday!
