It may not have been the first "found footage" film but it was absolutely the first at knowing how to market it. Brilliant. No one watched Cannibal Holocaust and thought it was potentially real. You could never duplicate the magic of having seen this in the theater, opening weekend, back in 1999. It's just a different world cinematically now...especially with the proliferation of social media, etc. If this were to happened it would be deconstructed and analyzed a thousand different ways before it even opens. Interviews with the cast, director, horrible trailers, etc.

I loved the Blair witch project. They will riun the film with a remake
I agree, if it is a remake, it might ruined what they accomplished so well with the original. The original will still stand on its own.
