His little monologue about intelligent corporeals is made that much better due to the fact that he does not blink.
The lying gargoule and the stupid knight part is pure comedic genious and very well played in a great video series. Gratz all.
Glorion adds his charisma mod to all of his DC's.
This episode ruined the "liar and truth" puzzle for every party that has seen this.
On the plus side, it did give me a 1 minute audition monologue for theater: 2:04-3:04.
Yeah, but every dungeon crawler who's worth their salt has seen the puzzle at least once.
" I'm SO keeping that rock!" lmao
2:02-3:03 is literally my favorite scene in the entire season. He's a really good actor, and completely obliterates that monologue into a whole new realm of pure awesome win. Also, the music in the background adds to the tone tremendously. I love love love this part! :)
"oh you are still alive"
"NO IM NOT!"
funny as hell
"They're gonna blame me for this."
Poor guy! Can he get his own spinoff or something?
I STILL freaking love Carrow's transformation to cynical undead.
Glory has to be one of my favorite characters from anything ive ever seen...
I wanna know how these characters met in the series
" Well then, lets make this happen. " My entire group just about died laughing at this entire riddle gone bad :)
Carrow is so my favorite. The sword is hilarious too!
Carrow quickly turned into my favorite character in the series.
2:01 is really awesome.
Carrow gives a really good monologue that almost threatens to change the tone of the entire piece. His voice rocks, his delivery rocks, the music is more threatening and you can tell there is gravity in this moment. Great stuff. Makes me wanna monologue... and I can't act.
BTW: Is the writing on Perf's back supposed to be a reference to Planescape: Torment or Discworld?
I will miss happy Carrow, I was enjoying his character! This is definitely my favourite episode of Season 1.
How is Brian Lewis not a big name Hollywood actor?
"Thank-you scary ceiling voice!"
"Wait Iw asn't done!"
Sword: "Bletch! Orc"
Carrow: "Bletch! Orc"
OMG, I cannot stop laughing. This is some of the best stuff ever produced.
It's like modern Monty Pyton, in so many ways. The budget, the thematics, and most of all the enjoyment I'm getting out of this.
I freaking LOVE Carrow's transformation to cynical undead.
Not a zombie.. It's "revenant" actually
OH
@Moosh50 He's in a webseries called "The Dirty Do Gooders" too and in part 7 of Episode 1 he completely nails a scene while his face is entirely covered by a mask. Manages to kill the scene just through his voice and head and hand movements. It's amazing.
I love Carrow so much. It does help a lot that Brian Lewis is an underrated actor, who absolutely nails his performance as Carrow (and Sean "Cass" Cassidy/Brother Silence in The Gamers 2: Dorkness Rising and The Gamers: Hands of Fate).
The acting in that monologue was phenomenal. Great voice, expressiveness, line, great scene. :) 10/10.
Great shades of Tail Biter!
Man, Brian Lewis has the voice, the looks and the dramatic weight to portrait the greatest villain ever, if given the chance.
Man, I love this series already!
If you want it viral, share! Season 2 is being filmed right now.
No!,.. Not a zombie.
Brian Lewis is a fantastic talent.
We love ya hre in the swamp Brian.
watched this eleven years ago, watching it again in 2022 just for the laughs.
Well I always like the Joss Whedon approach, they are corporeal undead possessed by demons. No soul. Carrow has his soul, and his body, just no pulse...
@ZombieOrpheusEnt
I suppose this is true. I just fell in love with the Gamers, and Dorkness Rising so much I was hoping for this to be something else like that. Not really complaining, I really love the series and get excited each time a new episode is released.
Thanks for making some badass media for everyone to enjoy :P
At the door riddle I was honestly expecting him to kill one of them and then ask the other "hey, is that guy alive?" 😆
LOL
this is awesome. I love the movies these folk make.
I just love the way knight look before he threw the sword
Interesting way to beat that trap Glorion!
I like the guy playing the cleric, he's really good. Reminds me of young David Hasselhoff for some reason...
That's what i call pne heck of a Crit with that rock X3
You're welcome! I love these little details.
Bloody-faced Carrow kind of reminds me of Pascow from the original Pet Semetary movie. Not sure why, he just kind of does. Also, even as an undead, that's one hot priest.
It's hard to notice everything else, after that awesome undead monologue...
I love the talking sword lol
I just love the SmartZombohCleric voice....
Love the Labyrinth reference with the lying/truthful riddle, if that is where they got it from.
Zombie Carrow sounds and looks a lot like House =P
Amazing videos don't stop making them
OMG this stuff is just too amazing!!
@singingdragon You are correct, of course. And good thinking there, by the way.
For some reason, though, the GMs that I've known never seemed interested in the scenario where the creatures only speak to answer questions. They preferred the "trick question" setup. The players are meant to assume that they're facing a logic puzzle requiring a clever answer, and fail to see the simple solution.
That's just the way these GMs rolled, I guess.
I love the warrior side path...
@Ryoku1
A Lich would be more like someone who has the soul linked to the body. The actual soul is contained in some sort of object so no, they don't have souls.
Vampires it's harder to say because Vampires vary a lot depending on the series they're in.
Great work though! Love the other movies as well :D
This episode just confirms why my characters always have improvised weapons as a specialty. Especially books.
What a cool Cleric.^^
Astounding, considering this came out in 2010.
that is the best way to solve knights and knaves ever!!!
@Hunterwolf0815 We love fandubs! Be sure to post it as a response so we can link to your video. Remember, JQ is released under a Creative Commons license, so there is very little that you can't do with it!
Ι subscribed, of course! I find your series very amusing and your characters very silly!
The fighter is tome of horror proof. I love this guy!
i love the sword's dialouge
NEED more !!
I was wondering how long it would take for this group to lose its strait man, and have him replaced by another extreme personality. And I have my answer: 5 episodes. Every episode makes me love it a little more.
LOVE that sword....have a Skelos based adventure coming up.
Loved it!
Love this
Thank you.
Oh my god....the sword is a murderhobo
My wife watched this series, and she says his tattoo should've said "Bone Henge."
A link in a mathematical book lead me to this...
@Ryoku1 These are questions that we plan to answer in future seasons. For the moment, our mouths are shut.
I love the magic sword.
@PurpleWomanDragon As soon as we have a chance to finish season one and then remaster everything!
"What is it like, being dead?"
"Well, it kinda itches..."
6 years BEFORE Justice League came out!
Either Zack Snyder also watched this, or they might know something we don't.
Perf made Carrow a Lich then
+Shadow Dimitriaski
"...and thus christianity was born."
+Shadow Dimitriaski technically a Lich's soul is housed [at least in part] in its phylactery.
Vampires are intelligent undead. So, I guess Carrow is a vampire that doesn't drink blood?
Antonio SCENDRATE GATTICO Liches are intelligent undead too; it makes more sense he's a lich than a vamp.
Yeah, but like SpoonHurler said, Liches' souls are bound to their phylactery, not their body.
the wizard should switch career to necromancy. LMAO
i love this episode!!!
What did they use for the black mouth effect while still having nearly perfect white teeth? That's amazing... @.@
So keepin that rock
okay this show is complete Win
@Ryoku1 liches have their souls outside of the body, and vampires have just his previous life soul's mark, not sterling one. Besides, only vampires can create other vampires, and humans can't
What does the back tattoo say?
'I know you feel like you've been drinking a few kegs of Styx wash, but you need to CENTER yourself. Among your possessions is a JOURNAL that'll shed some light on the dark of the matter. PHAROD can fill you in on the rest of the chant, if he's not in the dead-book already.
Don't lose the journal or we'll be up the Styx again. And whatever you do, DO NOT tell anyone WHO you are or WHAT happens to you, or they'll put you on a quick pilgrimage to the crematorium. Do what I tell you: READ the journal, then FIND Pharod.
Don't trust the skull.'
MrVaern Good ol Planescape: Torment such a great game
awesome
That counts! That still counts!
the ninja sounds like uma thurman in kill bill (or i guess in any movie since her voice doesn't change)
3:16 love it
@Ryoku1 Liches store their souls in Phylactery. Hence why their immortality is bound by a trinket they defend with all their will.
So really they're the first fashion victims, bound to an accessory for all eternity.
good point! thnx mate
Oh yes that definitely counts!!!
I so want to help spread the good will that is this series. Tis mightily awesome!
So Caro is a rotting body with a soul, and he's the first of his kind. What about vampires and liches? Wouldn't a lich be defined as a soul that has remained within it's own skeleton?
did not notice that, but I agree. Thank you.
@onemileprophet Compare our length to other web series!
@Nani101 He's a cleric, high Cha and Wis, you get the picture.
CRIT ROCK!
this reminded me of thrilling intent
The wizard is obviously a halfling.
Props if you get the reference.
"Holy rotting sod" Hilarious XD
"What would the other one says, what is the wrong way?" - Take this way.
The very same, and they're working on a new one called "The Gamers: Hands of Fate".
tomes are the new frying pans
