- When I found a mint condition, low hours 2005 Kawasaki KX250 two stroke I couldn't pass it up, so I bought it! This was my first ride on it... What an amazing bike! I definitely will keep this one forever. Hope you enjoy the video and thanks for watching.

Those first few jumps you hit looked really steep.

I live in the same city as you and I have a KX250 also but (F) '19. Bought it new but I don't get to ride often. Uncle Bob at CC Dirt Riders even gave me free lifetime membership for doing the Dirtbike Boot Camp video and yet, I STILL have only 24 hrs on it 🤦. My ground game is decent but I'm still learning how to jump properly, so I'm still goon status 😂

I have a built cr250 and a stock kx 250. I love Hondas but the kali has a way better powerband
to bad you got rid of your kx 250 it was my most fav bike to watch you ride.
Yeah I miss it some times, but the KX videos got terribly low views and after I had my bad crash I didn't want to ride it anymore. Bad memories.

@@DerekHallman Mine is a 2001. I got it a few months ago and started riding again on dirt trails. I am 50 - haven't ridden a dirt bike since I was 17 when I had an old 1979 YZ250. It's a lot of fun. Broke my ribs the first month and couldn't ride much but back on now and exploring often here in Colorado. I love the bike. It's not as brutally powerful as the old YZ, but plenty for an old man like me :)

I saw 2 guys looking good at a motocross track, and now one of them is dead and the other must live with the consequences.
The dead guy failed to make a double jump and so the bike crushed him to death.

How does it compare with the KTM 150sx you have? Big difference in power?
WAY more power. Night and day difference how fast this thing is.
What do you think about vibration of kx versus newer Austrians?
this bike definitely vibrates a bit more than the newer KTM/husky/gasgas bikes. I don't think about the vibration too much, but my hands definitely get worn out after a while of riding it.

It's super clean man, I had to snag it! I paid $2.manydollars for it haha. Take one guess then I'll tell ya how much I actually spent.
@@DerekHallman If you got it for less than 3K or even 4 you got a deal you see shops like Kaplan cycles who specializes in finding & restoring these old bikes to sell & for it's museum. They go upwards of what a new 4 stroke cost 10k in some cases even more. I suggest you check out Kaplan cycles UA-cam channel if you haven't already.
@@CoolcatAMA-Pro I paid 4300 for it and it felt like a LOT for an old smoker, but I really wanted it. Considering how clean it is, how well it runs, and that I'll keep it forever, I don't think I paid too much 😁 I've seen a lot of Kaplan's videos they make me drool every time I see the bikes they have in inventory haha

Maybe slowly over time I will but I definitely want to keep the overall look OEM.
Damn that’s sounds good! Seems louder than mine, wonder if the muffler was modified or the packing is just worn out. I don’t have that much pitch from mine.
Nah a bike with worn out packing will never sound good - it will sound very tinny, empty, and loud. From my experience, the sound of a bike mostly comes from which carb you have and the jetting you're running.

Yep I still have the 150 and will ride both in the videos. My goal is to start collecting bikes that I want to keep forever. This KX250 was #1 on my list, but there are a couple other Japanese 2 smokers on my list too 🤙

hahaha dude it must be! My KTM doesn't ever want to go into neutral and this Kawi loves to go into neutral when I'm trying to downshift to 1st haha
@@DerekHallman Haha my main riding buddy rides a 2009 KTM 450 and he can NEVER find neutral when we stop and he always has to bend down and find it by hand so yeah I think we've cracked the code of the universe hahaha
