Back in May 2014 Apple announced they’d be buying a company called Beats Electronics for three billion dollars. Making it the most expensive acquisition Apple’s ever made. And to this day, I receive questions from viewers asking why they did it. So in this video I’m going to explain three reasons why Apple bought Beats, and whether or not the three billion dollar purchase has paid off.

Worth mentioning, that HTC worked with Beats a few years prior to deliver better sound to theire phones.
I get Apple acquired Beats to create Apple Music. But I just can’t get with plastic headphones that break easily with a market full of quality alternatives who’s only weakness was marketing.

I personally prefer Spotify over Apple music. I think Spotify has an adventage when it comes to usability and the music quality especially over my AirPods. I am only a apple music costumer out of customer loyalty which is Apples biggest advantage and secret of success. - In my opinion

Apple was found in 1976 and didn't have any audio products until 2001 (if the iPod is counted as the first one), so not "always"!
Which is ironic now because one of the largest audio companies no longer really is anymore an audio company, Sony. Funny how a computer company became an audio company “Entertainment Media” and an audio company became a video game company!! Lol!

My brother bought me a pair of Beats Studio 3 headphones for Christmas -- almost $400. the plastic is cracking on it by the earphones and apparently, this happens a LOT as I searched on the internet. So we made an appointment at the Genius bar and were told that this is not a manufacturing defect and they were going to charge us $350 to replace them. How is this NOT a manufacturing flaw? Shame on you Apple.
You know if you get fired from Apple, you still had the honor of working for Apple. Still I think Levine is one of the top talents in the music industry as whole. He knows good music. Going back to his record labels, think of the bands he signed, including Eminem, Korn, Dr Dre himself. The man has always had a good ear for music. It's just kinda sad understandably Apple couldn't find a use for talent.

You don’t have to be an audiophile to tell that beats isn’t the best headphone. A $20 cheap Sennheiser sounds better. To tell the truth: it costs around $10 to make a Beats headphone which they sell for hundreds of dollars. But they invest a lot in marketing. But the profit margins are still high so it suits Apple fine.
Without Samsung Apple wouldnt exist, Apple used a Samsung chip to create their first phone. Samsung inspired Apple, In my opinion the ios system is like an apple 🤣
Android 10 is way smoother the only thing i can agree with are Apple accesories they got premium quality compared with the Samsung buds.
Also Apple got alot to Learn from Samsung.

They Bought out they’re competitor and used they’re tech to make themselves better. Dr.Dre should have kept it and just worked with them now he’s got nothing .
To summarize:
Beats is a designer brand, made by celebrities and audio engineers.
Apple wants talent, as they associate their brand as being innovative and futuristic.
Apple wants a name brand that people are willing to spend a lot of money on.

I think Apple made a mistake (somewhat), with not the purchase of Beats, but with the execution after purchase. If they wanted to make some profits, they could slap the name 'beats' on their airpods, homepods andwhat not. Instead, they branded it with their own name. Even though AirPods sold like hotcakes, Beats and Apple are kind of in a weird place.
I LOVE my beats pro wireless earbuds. They absolutely sound amazing. I was always a Bose fan and thought they were the cream of the crop but after using my Beats for the first time, it was like_ WOW!!!!

They bought Beats by Dre because they needed a way into the streaming industry and bought the company mainly because of Beats Music. They almost didn’t care at all about the headphones and that continues to show years later today.
Why is Apple planning to gradually kill Beats?
Because Beats is nothing compared to how many people know Apple, so they’ll probably just fold all their stuff into the brand. Why bother keeping up a separate brand you own when you can just make it your own?
Beats back then was heavily advertised by famous music artist but ever since Apple bought over. Beats seems to died out while the earpod continues to rise

I know I'm late to the party on this video but I think Apple was actually smart by keeping them beats because with now with AirPods being apple branded and beats still being beats you corner both sides of the market you have an headphone for both sides of the market people who like their base boosted which is a lot of people and then just a more regular standard sounding headphones they have both sides of the market now that's kind of smart

Every single UA-cam reviewer that I watched. The ones where they try many and tell you which is the best always put them at the bottom or near the bottom. You can search for yourself. I’ve not owned a pair but I listened to my brother’s. I’ve not compared them to other expensive earphones so I don’t know personally.

I kinda wish Beats made the Apple AirPods. I bought two pairs and both died on me after about a month of purchase. I connected the Apple for support and they did send me replacements, but both were "lost" in transit after I sent them back via FedEx. I'm out $640 and no Apple AirPods to show for them. I like Apple a lot, but I'm never going to buy their headphones ever again.
