@@BlackNerdComedy 28:55. You missed the 2nd Time Around, April's father's old shop from the original comics, the 1990 live-action movie, the 2003 animated TV series, and the 2012 animated TV series(for which it was strangely renamed "The 2nd Time About").
My first cinema experience was Ninja Turtles II: Secret of the Ooze, and from there I gobbled up every ninja turtle toy and video game I could as a kid. Over 30 years later and this game makes all of that time, energy and quarters worth it! Glad all us Turtles fans are having a blast with it! TURTLE POWER! 🐢🍕✋
I bought and played through this game the day it came out and couldn't stop grinning! All of the references to the show and the old games were so good. All it's missing is foot soldiers hiding behind Pizza Hut signs and dropping them on you from above.
Seeing how much you enjoy this game makes me want to see more of you playing the rest of this game. I'm asking if there is going to be a part two of this.
Seeing the pure joy in your smile and enthusiasm while playing this is so satisfying. You can really tell how much effort and heart was put into this game. The voices, references and the animation style is just perfect! One might say totally bodacious!
My favorite thing in beat-em-ups is when the they go nuts with the playable characters. I hope they add a bunch more even though they said that they'll wait and see what to do in the future.
Andre was me when I was playing this on stream. I was just SO into everything going on in this. The characters looked great, the sound design was great, the music is amazing and the nods to the franchise were all just fantastic. I was 5 years again and loved every second of it.
Andre I LOVE how excited you get playing this! Really brightens my day. But I really wish you played this game with Katie or any other person. I feel like that would be peak content.
This game is seriously my game of the year! So fun, so many references, graphics are amazing and the soundtrack it unbelievable. Now I wonder if we can get the same team to give us a new Simpsons arcade game.
Not only is this game amazing to play, but it probably has THE best video game soundtrack! Not a single bad track in the bunch. I would legit buy a physical cd of this ost.
Me and my nephew played through this game in one sitting when I went to visit my family the other week, and what a delightful experience! I grew up on the 80's turtles cartoon, so this was hitting all the nostalgia feels, while also being a damn fun beat'em up that evoked the old Arcade and NES games I grew up loving. I do wish the Cowabunga Collection had released first, but, man, as a TMNT fan, this year is has so much love you'd think it was an anniversary year or something! Watching you play, and seeing how enthusiastic you are about the series and the game was so much fun. Bro-fist! We played it on my nephew's Switch, and unlocked everything, so now I have the pleasure of playing through it on my PS5 and unlocking everything all over again! lol
This is what happens when you get a company that cares about the fans and the source material with nostalgia. Awesome gameplay! Been looking forward to this
Ooo, we getting game/stream highlights with some edits for jokes here & there? Nice. I'd be down if you did content like this every so often. We get new videos from you, you get to play games, and it's just something different for the the channel. Great video, hope to see more soon.
"Their heroes in a half-shell, and their green. When the evil Shredder attacks, these turtle boys don't cut him no slack." "Splinter taught them to be ninja teens. He's a radical rat." "Leonardo leads, Donatello does machines, Raphael is cool, but rude, Michaelangelo is party dude."
Glad you found all those references, and the look on your face makes me smile too. Too bad you didn't show the Shredder fight, because that Shredder track ain't nuttin to shell wit!
I've been waiting to see your reactions to this! It brought back so many memories I went and bought a few seasons of the OG series. You do some solid impressions BTW!
I thought I knew the Turtles until I watched you play Shredder's Revenge. It was a lot of fun watching you recall everything from the old-skool cartoon. It's such a great game and blast of nostalgia.
I beat this game with my two oldest (seven and five). I had gotten them into TMNT with the 1990 movie, which they loved, then we watched Mutant Mayhem together for the first time, which they loved, and this made them ask me to watch the old cartoon, which I hadn't seen since it originally aired (I was born in 86). Between all these, they are now obsessed with the turtles. It also turns out nearly perfect that my four kids' favorite colors correspond with the Turtles (well, my youngest's is yellow, not orange, but close enough)
just got done beating this game with my son. Not sure how had more fun playing it lol. Such a classic. Definitely made me feel like that kid again playing it when it first came out on the arcade. Loved it. Such fun watching you enjoy it. Great video.
Fun fact: There was a line of turtles that could change back and forth from regular turtle to ninja turtle, transformers style. Donatello's version has bo staves that could convert to pogo sticks. Nice Easter egg, IMO.
This was the one reaction to the gameplay I was hoping for. Only because I keep seeing all these side characters and going "OH HEY. ....THAT GUY. I'M SURE ANDRE KNOWS WHO THEY ARE CAUSE I NEVER ACTUALLY WATCHED THE SHOW, JUST PLAYED THE GAMES."
It truly shines with friends and is easier to complete with even strangers online as that let's you weather the storm of Foot soldiers and key is healing partners. I completed the game with 4-5 rotating players always changing jobs by Instinct and health status of offense, resting away from enemies or being the healer or protector of healers. It's a much worthy game worth many plays.
Bro, let me tell ya...I grew with the OG TMNT (1987)...when watching the 2012 TMNT, it was weird for me to get used to Rob Paulsen voicing Donnie. But I did and there was the reference in 2012's "Transdimenional Turtles" where there was banter between 2012 Donnie and 1987 Raph about their voices
I’m sure you might have figured this out but in story mode the more you play the more you level up your turtles which means they get new special moves and more life, so doing later stages with underleveled characters are much harder, I’m glad you are enjoying this game! It’s super addictive for me too.
Raph is usually slept on in most TMNT games. But in this one he's actually awesome. Only him and April have super moves that you can control their movement after triggering it. But all in all, they accomplished with this game making every character fun to play with.
Good dlc potential with new levels and new bosses from the toy line. But I had an even better idea. A big dlc with a bunch of new levels and bosses and a big bad threatening the world and destroying the Technodrome and making Shredder and Krang join the turtles to fight as selectable characters (maybe even Bebop and Rocksteady too). I know it's an old trope of bigger bad causing bad guys to join good guys but a playable Shredder and Krang has never done before in a TMNT beat'em up. The special moves can be unique instead of just a burst attack, like Shredder drinking a drop of ooze and becoming super for 10 or 15 seconds, passing the star limit for each stat but losing health fast.
This game is what happens when it's made with love, care, and respect. You don't see this that often anymore. I have not met a TMNT fan that this game did not please.
What other video game should I play?
Maybe a little bit of either Fnaf world or Sonic Origins?
I think you already played it on twitch but I’d love to see some PAC-Man museum +
Fatal Frame. No other options.
The new Mario and rabbits game coming out in October if you like strategy games
Michael Jackson's Smooth Criminal SAGA Genisus game.
This whole game is amazing! The voices, the gameplay, the music, and the references, It’s the perfect Ninja Turtles Game!!
Almost. I think the OpenBOR game TMNT Rescue Palooza might be slightly better.
@@davidgill7412 Why?
@@somisimons have you played Rescue palooza?
18:37 I like how April's win animation is a mic drop but because of the position she dropped it directly on his face lmao
I love how visibly excited you are playing this game. This game is hitting me right in the childhood
Bc the child in us is springing back to life, and honestly during these dark times the world could use more happiness.

Thank you!

Straight up beat this game in one sitting. Once I started I could not stop lol. I was rocking the Raphael.
It's so addictive. Now I'll just randomly hop into public rooms and join people to play.
Same, except Leo. Im still playing a little online as well.
Your enthusiasm for both the game and the franchise makes this very entertaining.
Your culture references and characterizations are gold. Lol.
I am always amazed by how much cartoon trivia that Andre can recall off the top of his head. 😵
I got the game this week and I'm just blown away by the animation and gameplay, I felt like a 90's kid again!!!
The perfect person for the job. Let’s go!!

You're always a blast to watch. Nice to see another mega turtles fan catch all the references. Thanks for an awesome video. Cowabunga!
Seeing how much you enjoy this game makes me want to see more of you playing the rest of this game. I'm asking if there is going to be a part two of this.
Yes, a Part 2 will happen in a few days. Might also put the long versions on BlackNerdGames and resurrect that channel lol!

RIP Uncle Phil, the voice of Shredder James Avery.

Turtles in Time has FINALLY been dethroned as the best Ninja Turtles game!
I second that statement!
