Since some people didn't like the part with vocals, I uploaded another video with the instrumental version of the song here:
ua-cam.com/video/ngmHm0dUtD8/v-deo.html
RezHD // TV & Movie Edits i liked the vocals
this is art. ua-cam.com/video/Cn36Pb8z3yI/v-deo.html
I would have recommended rounin kenshin the live action. Since you know its based on proper techniques of sword fighting :D fights. I think this is epic but IF I WERE PICKY I would say it's the art of movie sword fighting.... JUST SAYING. But I liked it, good video.
Watched this while high....so beautiful....please do a nostalgic one....like old Kung Fu movies
RezHD // TV & Movie Edits Check out the duelist and rob roy. Most of the sword fights in these movies and shows have been roundly analyzed and mocked by HEMA practitioners. No offense cuz the video is beautiful and very well done. I enjoyed it.
"Art of sword fighting"
Rey from starwars:" *wHAt HapPeNs iF if i sWIng tHis ARouNd* "
More like "The Art of Hollywood Sword Fighting"
yeah, it has almost nothing to do with real sword fighting, it's more like choreographed sword dancing than anything.
Nick Mavrodiev And how does “real” sword fighting works?,since I guess you know? Cause I think soldiers back then trained their sword skills. They dont just swing around randomly, or they’ll easily get killed. This can be accurate, but not in the modern world, because who even have a sword in their house and practice?
@@UnKnown-ig6gn Of couse we can never know how to exactly recreate it or whether our assumptions are correct, but in HEMA we at least believe that we can come quite close to the european traditions in some respects.
Just search for "HEMA swordfighting" on UA-cam if you are interested. :D
@Bacons Strip Then you must have watched the wrong videos, my friend ^^.
The thing with Hema is that since it is a pretty much unregulated activity everyone can do it and publish their fencing no matter whether they have any idea about body mechanics or not.
In addition to that the still young "high level" tournament scene in HEMA is pretty much the only context where you will see people training for explosivity and speed.
A Fencer focusing on reconstriction, as many are, will often not really care how fast or strong or structurally sound his moves are.
There is a big divide in differing skill in HEMA and I understand it can be offputting for someone who has much experience with a similar but solely competitive activity. :D
Addendum:
I'd suggest watching some of Martin Fabian's content on UA-cam. It's pretty well produced at least.
The Troja fight is the most realistic. They studied the fighting styles, you can see that in the behind the scene videos.
1:48 Kylo did a good job defeating Darth Floor with that downward stab.
It’s fucking stupid and disgusting how the guy aims his saber slash at his saber on the floor instead of at him directly
@@Gadget-Walkmen Yel
It was a phantom menace
@@Gadget-Walkmen is it se sort defence or something is he going for toe. He's also wide fucken open here.
@@ThatFoxJD bad joke but thankfully that didn’t happen IN a phantom menace at all in the slightest. That film was bad enough as it was and we didn’t need any worse sword play.
That Troy fight....still the most badass I've ever seen.
You may want to check ancient polish movie "The Deluge" from 1974.There sabre fight scene between Kmicic and Wołodyjowski. To this very day I'm impressed by it.
Honestly, I have watched that fight so many times. It's my favourite fight in cinema.
" the art of sword fighting"
*Has a jumping attack in the thumbnail*
This is where the fun starts.
Achilles is the best in my opinion.
Agreed he takes everyone on
He is the sword
@@Gadget-Walkmen I'm pretty sure, even Hector's spear didn't want to mess with Achilles and decided to break in half.
The fighting style isn't that realistic, but the way it's choreographed and the shots of it make it look amazing.
Dude was like invincible what do you expect
"The Art of Swordfighting"
*adds The Last Jedi fight scene*
Not to mention that shite music
The art of acting, or more accurately the art of faking
Bruh toxic
@@marcopedro2017 It isn't toxic, it's the truth
@@thechallenger752 but alot of people like it in here
Achilles...man....what a fight choreography
The Achilles vs Hector fight is fantastic ur editing is the best I’ve seen ur a beast, sword fighting is the best
@faultroy in terms of the narrative its a very moving fight, you care about each sides and are torn about which to root for. Also, in terms of the actual fight, why don't you listen to this man's thoughts, as they say the exact opposite of what you have. May be good for you to hear an educated opinion.
ua-cam.com/video/aJYpXR1HCR0/v-deo.html
No other fight come close to this. Looked realistic and got everyone hooked
@faultroy bleh show me a fight better choreographed than this
@faultroy Dude you need to get your ass kicked, keyboard warrior speaking boy. In a real fight, you'd get destroyed.
@faultroy oh please, you don't know shit when it comes to sword fights to the death
Star Wars and Kill Bill kinda ruined the atmoshpere
Kill Bill didn't but star wars certainly did.
@@metalbat8414 wouldn't say the whole franchise, just the last jedi
@@spartanwolf I at no point said that the franchise did, I was referring to the Star Wars (The Last Jedi) fight. Obviously Star Wars as a whole didn't ruin the video. Just that terrible fight scene.
I fully agree, star wars and kill bill do NOT belong in this row and are utter bullshit where as the other movies atleast still try to be somewhat realistic in their swordfighting scene's.
@@ItsShane79 Have you ever watched Troy? The way Achilles fights is unheard of lol
Love it. The fighting style of Achilles and his fight against Hector is reason enough alone to watch Troy! My favourite sword fight of all time. Great choices of scenes, and good editing!
Thanks!
The Troy fight is also my favorite one, beautiful choreography by both actors.
One of my favorites as well. Great crisp choreography and performance on both actors part. especially brad pitt.
Is it really a sword fight if most of it is done with spears
Have you seen how they use the shields
That was not a sword fight.
The title was misleading though😂 I thought this was a HEMA video. Lol
Exact opposite, in fact. Many of these are actually horrible examples of sword fighting
Yeah same, I thought it was going to be a philosophical commentary on the martial art of European sword fighting, still kept watching though as it was edited pretty well, the rap music seems out of place though I don’t think it goes with the theme of the video also brad Pitt can’t execute proper footwork as his foot is to the side not facing his opponent
Baldrick The dung spreader “foot work” wasn’t even an expectation of mine, these are Hollywood movies after all. And I was still disappointed
Figures a bunch of Hema guys would be here complaining about misleading videos and complaining about sword techniques. Can’t you all just sit back and enjoy the amazing video he made for once.
@@armoredghost1610 THANK YOU
1:43 is one of the worst choreographed fight scenes I've ever seen. Yeah it looks pretty the first time, but the Guard are swinging at thin air half the time
Pretty much like in the fight from GoT.
Also don't forget the disappearing dagger
Nice Black Sails love!
Jump to minute 1:30. Lesson 1: when you un-sheath your sword, you go forward, not backwards (otherwise, you're already retreating mentally and telling your opponent that he has the high ground).
Or they assume the position that suits right handed people....
You would need to take 2 steps forward to do so, or do awkward leg switch in place.
Also, in context they are fighting THE BEST swordfighter in GoT, everyone would take defensive position and try to attack as a group
Moangus PIckard Good point, no one would want to fight Dayne. There are only a few people who could beat him, such as Oberyn, Jamie, Hound, Syrio and possibly Jon. :)
@@bradmace9005 Jon couldn't beat shit. Only ones with a chance would've been Barristan Selmy and Jamie
Master Mind Seriously ? He would have a chance. Look at how many fights he has been in. Also what about Oberyn? Who completely embarrassed the mountain. Also don’t know if I mentioned, however what about Mountain ? He may have a chance.
Nice and Achilles still has the best moves.
El Luech a DEMIgod hehe
On a dance floor, eh...
The art of sword choreography ist the right title for that video.
This is basically a compilation of movies following the rule of cool in fighting
Most of the times i see rule of cool being invoked is for things that aren't cool after all. If it actually is cool, it's obvious by itself.
that achilles hector fight always hurts to watch especially after seein how well hector fought against patroclus and ajax. against achilles he dosent use any of his skills hes got a bad stand constantly stumblin arround from even the weakest attacks he dosent take advantage of achilles spinnin like an idiot by holding the tip of his sword in the direction of his abdomin so he would run it streight into his guts after the spin he dosent smack the top of achilles's shield when he holds it in the most inconvenient way possible which wouldnt allow him to have a solid grip and he dosent use his shield at all in an effort to weaken achilles's balance.
i know that they wanted to show that achilles was the superior fighter but what they really did was making hector look like a beginner
I love all those shows and movies, but seeing black sails brings back memories 😔
Let's just ignore the great editing, atmosphere, and all around quality of the video to complain about either the Last Jedi fight, music, or inaccurate style of fighting.
Done. What's next?
Well the video title is "The Art of Sword Fighting" so ofcourse we're gonna shit on the video
this is beautiful, great job sir, I got chills
Salute to the genius who made this epic epic epic montage
Starwars episode 1-3 have much better fight choreography, then episodes 7-8
Prequels fights were flashy and resembled dancing more than the actual fights. Although enjoyable and cool to watch, they lacked any tension (also Anakin vs. Dooku scene in Attack of the Clones is beyond terrible, easily worst fight in all Star Wars). I think episodes 5-8 duels are better, because they feel more like fights. Completley unrealistic with lots of unnecesary moves still, but they feel more visceral and heavy than prequel duels, fighters get tired, when they get hurt it feels like they actually get hurt. And episodes 5-8 duels have great and atmospheric settings and great visuals and camera work.
I don't like the new star wars fight scenes at all. They make saber fights look like they're fighting with steel swords. These are lightsabers. They are "lightweight". 5-8 make it seem like they're fighting with longswords. The prequels were better in that sense because they were fighting very fast.......as they should.
I mean Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon had faster choreographies than a light saber duel in the new Star Wars trilogy. That is sad and disappointing.
But lightsabers are not that lightweight. According to various sources, their weight is actually very simillar to a standard steel sword. Of course it depends on the story and author, but Lucas originally intended them to weight this much. So episodes 5-8 fight scenes make perfect sense. Also, old fashioned longsword fights are so much cooler and visceral and exciting than glorified glow stick dances shown in the prequels.
And also, movies like Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon or Hero pull off this dance-like fight scenes masterfully. They're are just so beautifull to look at, so amazingly choreographed. I know prequels wanted to go in similar direction in their fights, but failed miserably. Prequels choreography is just boring and unimaginative compered to "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon" for example. It's not tense, it's not cool to look at, it's not creative, it's nothing at all, just people waving glow sticks, zero excitment.
Oh God BLESS you. I'm researching how to shoot sword fight scenes and I'll definitely be watching this a lot.
I thought this was an incredibly professional video production. I loved it.
Great and beautiful video ! A masterpiece
Was looking for a video on the mechanic and style of fighting but this was a nice surprise. Nice edit!
One of the most epic vids I ever seen
I was so happy to see black sails in here!
The editing and pacing of this video is absolutely phenomenal. I especially like the little moment at 5:14 to wrap it all up! Keep up the astonishing content!
This is not the art of sword fighting. This is the art of choreography. I am glad to see in the comments that there are many others experienced enough to make the same basic observation.
Great Showcase. Great Edit. BTW I like the vocals in the music. :-)
This was one of the best things i have seen on YT in a while man, awesome done
Legend of tribute ❤️
Not Perfect but certainly one of the best video I have seen on YT in a long time. Great choice of music too.
You sir, just gained a subscriber.
Man, this video is so good.. really like it, thanks
This is awesome 😍⚔️
Too bad the last samurai wasn’t there as well, but nice video brings me memories:)
This is clean asf
I really enjoyed this video. Thanks You.
Thank you Bro, keep up the work I look forward to more
Came across your channel, and want to say thank you for the brilliant videos, even though they seemed to have stopped.
Adorea really knows what they’re doing. That is proper translation of real martial skills to story telling.
Just Amazing!
I loved it !!!
More please !!!!!!!!!!!!
Its so epiiiic! Like you video
That was beautiful.
Comment section be like:
40% of people: the audio is bad
40% of people: I watch HEMA videos so I am an authority on this subject
10% of people: I actually do HEMA and am reasonably frustrated
10% of people: I played electric tag at one point in my life so I think I know anything about sword fighting
Wow this comment has as much substance as 90% of the other comments.
nicely done! i was half expecting to see Syrio Forel in there :p
I was looking for the historically accurate sword fighting buffs... I found them, these are freaking movies and tv shows. Who gives a damn if they using real sword fighting forms or not, I certainly don't care, if keeps me interested and immersed in the scene and the moment I'll give it 7,8, 9 and 10 on a scale of 1 to 10.
Thanks!!! Thank you so much for this video
The art of editing. Great job man.
Well done!
Nice one, dude!
Awesome job mate
3:58 that really hit me😂
That Sir...... Was very very well presented.
Very cool edit
Michelle Yeoh, is probably the the best of the bunch in real life, having more hours of hands on practice than most any of them... and she usually did her own stunts.
I was going to say this almost verbatim… a rare creature, that one.
Love, love , love this,...how can you hate this...
watching sword fighting
*insert star war
*confuse screaming*
Actually, eye contact is how men were taught to fight... you’re not fighting the sword, as they do in Hollywood, you’re fighting the man. You have to read him.
That moment when you're in court and the defendant denies your challenge of a duel
This is beautiful
Brad Pitt scene here is far Flawless... Damn!!! This should include Straight Sword art of sword fighting... Tony Jaa in Ong Bak 2...
Great fight choreography, beautiful choice of scenes and masterful editing to convey the message and mood of this short Masterpiece. Salute.😎
Disregarding the unrealistic sword fighting, this was good until the rap came in. Then I really started to shake my head
nicely done!!
Truly Amazing....
Beautiful!
nice vide, nice music!! congratulations!
Nice work.👏
I literally just watched Black Sails in its entirety because of this video.
I love this
I love your channel! When stuff matches music and has meaning it just frees my soul. Please... never stop.
Amazing editing! I'm new.. Subscribed! 👍🏻 ❤
really nice, epic edit altough in none of theese scenes, actual sword fighting is displayed^^ it's fenomenal coreography but the actual "art of sword fighting" would look very diferent.
Wow very well done video, shit gave me goose bumps! Please make more
Watching Rey at 1:43 is so pathetic it's almost unbearable. None of her opponents even attempt to hit her, and they all deliberately wait for her to be ready before attacking. One of them even attacks in the opposite direction...how the hell was that scene greenlit?
Nice video, seems like some viewers wanted it to be a real martial art thing for some reason
Awesome video
I enjoyed the choreography in Troy.
Beautiful
Amazing!!
His comeback at the last part shoulda been "well, i have beaten over 100 adversaries, it should be safe to say i am teaching you how to fight".
Fake fighting
still cool to watch
Would upvote if the title wasn't as misleading.
But won't downvote.
good job
Why mix the disgrace of The Last Jedi "fight scenes" in with this?
New «Star Wars» "fights" - sucks.
@@blackbern9853
It actually looks realistic but prequels are still better althoight I think its too much Overfighting
@@derpynerdy6294 Prequels depict Star Wars swordsmanship better. They were supposed to be super fast unhuman. But now we get this "realistic" version. Ironically, it's not "realistic" for the Star Wars world.
Awesome!!!!!
First it was a brilliant video , loved all of it , second could you tell me the name and artist of the musical score you used please , its quite intoxicating
Zack Hemsey - No Man's Land
and thank you
The Art of Sword Fighting - according to Hollywood.
Great video
For Star Wars I would have used Luke vs Vader in Cloud city and for Kill Bill the Bride vs O-Ren. Otherwise good stuff
troy and game of thrones are the best fight scenes ever on screen
Art of swordfighting..... In the big screen! Aaahh! You know nothing RezHD (John Snow :-P ) and you boys and girls, who hit the like button, as well, which was just for the scenes! Wow! Really?
Excellent answer
Great Editting, please include hema next time
archery fighting art pls incrible work in this video amazing
INCREÍBLE!!!
