The Falconets win over France 1 - 0 is the biggest surprise of the women under 20 world cup as of now. Pundits are saying at least in private that this victory shows the Nigerian starlets have what it takes - the decipline, tactical, mental and physical prowess to defeat any team in this competition. However, the tournament is only at its early stages.
The coaches, no doubt, are up at night studying diligently every minimum detail of strength and weakness of rival teams, so as to strategize with precise accuracy in winning their upcoming matches.
Now here is the deal, it's no secret that Africans in general male or female are athletic, We are so designed by nature, well built and full of stamina. Time and time again, this very strength of ours has been the source of exploitation in countless football games, when we give hard tackling or dash for the ball, our football opponents especially the Europeans they are specialist on this trick, they deliberately throw themselves at our players making it looks like we crushed them, thereby forcing us to commit foul, and in the worse case scenario an explosion or even two red cards in the case with Morocco just recently.
We can beat this cunning moves with a little bit of extra care by anticipating the action of our opposite team. African football teams have to overcome this challenge of unnecessary red cards , it has cost us so many games and it has to stop. I wish I could speak directly with the Falconets coach.

I’m just relieved that playing big European names doesn’t mean an automatic loss again. That’s progress right there, but there’s still a lot of work to be done to really make the cut against names like USA or Brazil and the like.
