    Hi everyone!
    In this build I decided to come up with a portable Bluetooth boombox that would have a rechargeable battery and great performance. This speaker is based on Paul Carmody's Isetta speaker build which I have slightly remodeled to accommodate a hefty battery and all the electronics inside to make it portable.
    Music:
    • Daäna - Little Animals (Trilingo Remix)
    • Candy Dulfer - How It's Done
    • Capyac - Movement Swallows Us
    Thanks for watching!

    *Ja, ganz gute arbeit, auch die Lautsprecher wurden akustisch richtig, von vorn in die Schallwand eingebaut.* Für HiFi-Lautsprecher im Wohnzimmer würde ich aber richtiges Hartholz 3-4cm dick nehmen und die boxen müssen mit Watte o. Schaumstoff gedämmt werden, auch Bassreflexboxen. Yes, quite good work, also the loudspeakers were installed acoustically correctly, from the front into the baffle. For HiFi speakers in the living room I would use real hardwood 3-4cm thick and the speakers have to be insulated with wool or foam, also bass reflex speakers.

    Nice build!! How long does the battery pack last? I have built a 5s Battery pack using 15 18650 batteries for a PA speaker, and I played it a full volume for 12.5 hours before I recharged it. The voltage dropped from 20.1 volts down to 19.6 volts, but it is only running a single speaker at about 30 to 40 watts output into a 10" woofer and a horn tweeter.

    I have a creative sbs a120 2.1 system and the woofer doesn't blow air on its hole anymore. Ii did when it was still new and the sound from the woofer is so weak I can hardly call it a woofer anymore. what seems to be the problem here? should I replace the speaker on the woofer?

    • @DonnyTerek
      @DonnyTerek  4 роки тому

      Check every possible air leak in the enclosure and seal them if there are any, remove the woofer and play some low frequency tones to check if there are any noises coming from the woofer itself. Gently push the woofer to check if there is any rubbing of the coil against the magnet. If so, change the woofer.

    Some Chinese amplifier board usually give distortion or crack sound when you turn the amp to the maximum level. Especially with amplifier that build in Bluetooth module because the Chinese guy don not limit the output level of the Bluetooth module and they usually set gain of the amp very high. Does this module having this problem ? Waiting for your reply.

    Nice speaker! How did you calculate the bass reflex port? I'm building a bt boombox with two 8 inch mids, one 6 1/2 inch woofer and a horn tweeter and I wonder how many, long and wide my bass reflex ports should be. I have tried software but there is not enough information about my drivers to use software. Can you help me?

      If you dont have Vas, Qts and fs values of the drivers, the only possible way to tune a bass reflex port is by ear. Be careful not to make the diameters too small as that can cause port noise if the drivers move a lot of air

      You can use a software called "Limp" to measure the impedance curve of your speaker and then calculate the TS parameters.
      Limp uses the microphone input and stereo output of your computer in combination with some resistors.
      You need to enter the dc resistance of the speaker that you measure with a multimeter.

    Nice build. I’ve built a number of similar speakers. Why add passive x-overs with amp that has switchable 100 Hz high pass and adjustable low pass for the sub. What was that small circuit board, Bluetooth? Doesn’t that amp have bluetooth on board? Thx for sharing.

      Hi, thanks! They are actually filters for the full range speakers to make them sound slightly better. Yes, the circuit board is for Bluetooth but it is not necessary since the updated amplifier board has the Bluetooth included.

      Look for speaker kits on Parts Express. Try the Executive. Uses the same Tang Band "sub" and Co-axial drivers. I highly recommend getting x6 18650 batteries as the 3 that come with the kit only allow the operate the amplifier at 12V, and using a very inefficient woofer with a low voltage power supply for low amplifier power is a pretty terrible idea because you'll cause the amplifier to "clip" or form a square wave pretty early on the volume knob. Also with the Executive, it's pushing an 8" Passive Radiator so it becomes super stiff (like a PA driver), so you really need that 24V power to make it shine.
      You'll need the tools to build the kit as the kit does not come with tools. (Soldering Iron, pliers, Gorilla glue, etc)

    • @ford1546
      @ford1546 4 роки тому +1

      @@DonnyTerek You must always have a tweeter and a crossover filter with polypropylene or polyester capacitor. A full range speaker no matter how good it is will never be able to give good treble! A full range speaker will always be too heavy for it! Even JBL extreme has treble!
      without a separate treble you also can't control how the treble sounds!
